Re: What's your pet peeve in RL?

I remember that video and found it a little mean to do that to a little kid, though thankfully the guy who made it did clarify a few things in a follow up video so it went from "dude not funny" to "okay that was actually pretty funny".

And if that mod is anything like Too Many Items from the PC version...I can see there being lots of fun to be had.

Re: What's your pet peeve in RL?

Reminds me of the time a friend of mine lagged out and accidentally attacked a Zombie Pigman in the Nether. Another friend went to retrieve his stuff because we didn't know at the time that they become hostile to ALL players. Then they just kept scrambling for loot and dying until they dragged the pigmen into the room where our portal is. Eventually they'd already have you surrounded by the time you were in the portal, and the second you moved they tore you apart. We only salvaged the situation by having all 3 of us enter the portal, then have one person dash in one direction while the other 2 go in the other and grab the loot.

      Fun times.

Oh god. I don't like ZP. They get in your face and Ghast are just dreadful. The sounds they make are horrifying, to think those are synthesized sounds. It gives me the willies thinking bout the noise they make when you cut one of their legs off. Guwahh, god awful creatures. I am going to test a save I downloaded because I guess someone put "Herobrine" into the 360 version. I want to see this for myself. If you guys want I can pass you the save as well and guide you on how to make it work. =) Just let me know if you have XBL.

Re: What's your pet peeve in RL?

In one SMP game me and a friend managed to tame a bunch of wolves. We loved our dogs, we took them everywhere and they survived a ton. Lava, Creepers, Skeletons, Friends that can't aim, you name it.

One day we left all of them at the base since we were going to be group mining and we didn't want to have dogs in the way.

Everything went fine until another friend shot both me and him during a fight with a couple of creepers. Two minutes later a group of pissed off wolves were swarming over my friend but they were unable to do significant damage to him due to his armour. Then we heard the following soul crushing line.

"I think we're going to have to put them all down..."

If you want an emotional gaming experience, try having to slaughter your beloved travelling companions that you had raised, cared for, and nurtured because they suddenly decided to go feral and there was no way at all to call them off.

Don't they stop when you tell them to sit? That's what my friend always did with his wolves. I've been in the same situation though. Accidentally hit my friend during a trip to the Nether, then we go to his super cool city in the sky and suddenly half a dozen wolves are attacking me. They knocked me off the island before he could do anything about it and I died.

This was when Wolves were first added so unfortunately we did not have that option.

I never bring wolves with me anywhere, they die on me all the time from the in-game nature hazards, they either drown to death, fall in a fire pit, walk into a lava moat, try to run through burning Netherack. I don't even bother. I want the cats instead, those are more loyal. Well Ocelots, AND they scare creepers off.

cats are great but do remember that Creepers can and will still explode even if you have one with you

Re: What's your pet peeve in RL?

Well from when I've had cats around, Creepers usually just turn tail and run at the mere presence of one near my house. However I have yet to encounter a Charged Creeper vs Cat type show down. So I am still waiting on that, I think what I am going to be annoyed with the most is Endermen, although the pearls they drop will make transportation so much more worth it. I also do wonder if Ender Dragon will be put in the 1.8.2 update.

Ender Pearls aren't a viable means of transportation. They're only useful for getting into The End and for making Dropboxes Ender Chests.

                        Yes they are.

The pearl won't be useful until 1.9.2

                          Re: Minecraft

Anything done with an Ender Pearl could be achieved better through other means. If you want to get down a deep ravine, you can just place a water block at the edge and ride the waterfall down. Going up can easily be done by putting blocks under your feet. If you throw an Ender Pearl up a ravine you risk it hitting the wall of the cliff instead, and now you're falling to your death (and there's a max height you can throw it up.) Escaping mobs can also be done easily by putting blocks under your feet until you're out of reach. If you need to cross a gap, you can build a bridge. Unless you fall into a pool of lava with no nearby edge, I can't see a situation where you would NEED to use an Ender Pearl. (And if you fell into lava, you probably broke the one golden rule of Minecraft - never destroy the block under your feet.) Besides, until you reach The End you'll never get enough Ender Pearls to use them repeatedly, and even if you did, you lose HP each time so you'd have to stop after 3-4 throws.

Ender Chests, on the other hand, are crazy useful but you lose the Ender Pearl every time you relocate one. So it makes a lot more sense to save your pearls for that.

The Lava situation, I can see a Pearl being used right there and then. But like I said, I wouldn't use them unless of course your on Peaceful mode and just want to quickly explore. Then I can see them being used and if you duplicate them, then yeah. But that's what Creative Mode is for I guess. I don't like Silverfish. Annoying to kill when they get into groups.

Again, they cost HP to use so you won't get very far unless you're in Creative Mode, and in Creative Mode you can just fly. And if you can dupe items somehow you might as well build minecarts, or use the Nether (or minecarts in the nether.)
