    I mean, never mind the fact Bayonetta didn't sell to expectations on 360 and PS3, or that Sega refused to greenlight a sequel as the license-holder. And let's get mad at Nintendo saving a game thought to be canned, funded the development and are publishing it, essentially taking the risk for Sega here. Sure, being an exclusive published by Nintendo likely means their fingers are all in the pie and it will never see another platfom, but the fact the game is happening at all is something real fans would be happy about. And the real fans probably are.
    oh I love it when people bust out the blind NIntendo hate ammo, it makes for a very entertaining conversation........

    Happened on the FFXIV forums as well, someone mentioned they wanted to see FFXIV on the WiiU, and well hell broke loose because of a few hater members.

      I don't want to seem like I'm trolling here but you consider fanboys raging about a game being made console exclusive noteworthy?

        It is when the typical arguments against Nintendo are:

        - Not caring about mature content
        - Not having enough third party games
        - Not having enough third party exclusives

        Then suddenly they're all like:

        - I'm not getting a game for that toy.
        - I could get those games on my 360/PS3
        - NOOOOOOOOO! [Insert third party here] you have betrayed us all and I will boycott you forever! And I will kill myself.

        I think its important to shine a light on such stupidity when it arises. Gamers need to be faced with their own bullshit sometimes.

        And they need somoene to lick their delicious, salty tears from their face as they cry.

          Ewww dude! If they are cute gamer girls I approve, but don't generalize like that or you'll end up licking dude tears. Ugh.

            I agree, some gamers are way to swishy -.-

            I finally made my stance on how I will be doing things, to make it a bit cheaper for myself and so I can start collecting retro stuff again. Now that the WiiU seems to be gearing towards casual and hardcore, and mature, I will not be renewing my XBOX Gold (they completely screwed me over, no need to keep giving them money) and stick with online multiplayer with my PS3 and WiiU, and keep my XBOX to games I know I wont play online. Also WiiU will be my only "next gen" system for right now, going to wait and see what happened with Sony/Microsoft before I really get their new systems later.

              Nintendo spent over half a decade making a reputation for itself as the company that produced the console that catered to everyone but hardcore gamers. Now comes the next console and they have hardcore games being exclusive to it, and you wonder why that draws ire?

              Are you serious BBQ? Do you not see the reasons that would irritate people? Granted, a large portion of them are just idiots, but even you can't be blind to the things which provoke that kind of response.

                Only response that is needed here is something BBQ already said.....

                Fans wanted another Bayonetta, no company wanted to publish it, Nintendo coughed up the bill and made it exclusive for their system..... because well they payed for it. and now same fans want to bitch.

                  Re: Sept. 13th Wii U news stuff

                  Yeah, when people say Nintendo needs 3rd party exclusives they usually refer to new IPs, not "borrowed" ones. <_<;

                  But meh, this happens even within the same brand, just take a look at Valkyria going from the PS3 to the PSP. Which is virtually the same situation. And yes, the PSP may be more powerful than the Wii U but the damage was the same.

                  Either way the more I read about the thing the more I doubt it will appeal to the core gamers it is aiming to appeal. Unless they get some incredibly awesome new IPs that do magic stuff without the horsepower of a PC or a PS4/Xbox. Which I find extremely unlikely.

                    I've seen Nintendo consoles as supplemental platforms for three generations now, which most people have willfully ignored in the face of the Game Boy and DS brands being where all the hardcore and third party support really was. Its not my fault so many console gamers have a blatant bias against handheld and mobiles. Its not my fault they deluded themselves into thinking Nintendo was some passive business that gave up on them.

                    Nintendo changes with the times. When Playstation outstripped N64, Nintendo refocused their efforts on the handheld market to great success. Now with the handheld market being a bit more of a challenge, they have to be aggressive. Securing exclusives, building a social network around games and making the streaming app-to-rule-them-all I imagine would be part of a more aggressive strategy.

                    The fact remains Platinum Games could not get a publisher to fund Bayonetta 2. This is largely because of it performed well below expectation in the post-holiday market in 2010, lost in the mix of a number of other games that landed there due to giants like CoD;Mw2 steamrolling the competition. Sega didn't want to try again, Konami had them contracted for another project and no one else wanted to touch B2. Nintendo needed a hardcore game and they could fund it. End of story, really.

                    Anyone who is really a fan of the game should be happy, only fanboys of a platform are the ones that are upset.

                    Yeah, when people say Nintendo needs 3rd party exclusives they usually refer to new IPs, not "borrowed" ones. <_<;
                    What they "mean" is whatever bitching conveniently suits the situation.

                    Xenoblade and TLS were new IPs on Wii, that never stopped people from complaining about how much better/successful they could be if they were not on the Wii.

                    You know, even though one company was owned by Nintendo and the other co-developed it, meaning again, Nintendo's fingers were all up in the pie. MS Game Studios did it with Mass Effect on 360 and Windows, too. Sony generally only deals with indies if they promise exclusivity.

                    Exclusives, as it turns out, are important despite claims to it being otherwise.

                        Speaking of that, if the U had some sort of enhancements for Wii games it would go a long way into erasing those complains. Either that or HD collections, the kind of stuff core gamers appreciate. <_<

                          Platforms can neither be casual or hardcore, only primary or supplemental. "Casual" and "Hardcore" are nebulous labels since people that only play CoD and Madden-only gamers could be considered casual gamers and a soccer moms that could beast you at Tetris, Plants Vs. Zombies and Super Hexagon can be considered hardcore.

                          Given that the only way to bring over the VC, Wii Ware and Wii games in a compatible form required they come over with the Wii archetecture, I think its a bit unrealistic to expect Wii games upscaling to HD. I've yet to see PS3 or 360 perform that little feat with PS2 and Xbox games anyway.

                          HD collections for Gamecube and some Wii games? Not outside the realm of reason. In fact, Wind Waker could get a lot out of an HD ramake, moreso than it could get on 3DS. Namco having such great relations with Nintendo right now could probably pull off a Baiten Kaitos HD collection for their friends at Monolith. I'm sure a lot of GC stuff is just going to be VC territory, though.
