Mal, the question was best games you never played or the worst you forced yourself to finish.

Someone mention Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness, god that was bad. I had actually forgotten how bad it was, terrible camera, clunky controls, awful dialogue... urgh. I was a huge TR fan before it came out, I even pre-ordered it and I remember telling myself after every little bit it was going to get better, they were just setting it up for some proper TR action. It never did and that almost killed TR for me. Despite people telling me wonderful things about the Crystal Dynamics reboot, I didn't touch another TR game until Underworld.

Still, I don't think TR:AoD was the worst game I've played all of the way through.

Don't be so hard on Mal, he has absolutely no aptitude for reading comprehension.

Re: The best games you never played or the worst you forced yourself through...

There was just so much more that they could have done with The Enclave and The Brotherhood of Steel, but didn't. Bethesda dialed Fallout 3 in, as if they were scared of making it seem too much like TES and yet they pretty much already had made it EXACTLY like TES save for VATS.

Karma was dictated by the other games, but the morality behind it was total bunk. FNV had local reputation and more story-affecting choices. When you finally get to New Vegas after all the intial questing (though you could get there sooner by skipping much of the early story), you're given four directions you can take the story in

          - NCR
          - Legion
          - Side with House
          - Take over Hoover Dam and The Strip yourself.

In F3, you're given a second "evil" option toward the end, and you can only play that card in the same endgame, after which the game just ends anyway. So you get a slightly different ending narrative.

With all the love and attention TES IV and V got, F3 just feels paper thin. At least Oblivion and Skyrim have tons of content and exploration to back up their flimsy moral structure. I think I saw all there was to see of the DC wasteland in less than 100 hours.

Also, weapon upgrades sucked in P3. All that build up and the best I can make is a Nuka Cola bomb? Hell, I had to wait a good long while for magnums to be worth anything. Meanwhile the .357 I get in FNV is good enough to carry me through the entire game and i can make bullets for it later on.

Finally, New Vegas was much, much more threatening. People and monsters rushed you, they stick mines in the craftiest places. Managing injury is a bigger deal. Even before the Survival Mode the game stays pretty difficult.

DERP! That's what I get for reading threads at 4 am with no glasses and severe depression lol....

@_@ OK, best game I wanted to play but never did? Uh.... hmm. Probably either Xenoblade Chronicles or Resonance of Fate. Been wanting to play both games for a long time now (The Last Story too). Not one shop near me even carries xenoblade anymore though.

Still got that 2nd part right though and I stand by it - Infinite Undiscovery is the worst fucking pile of crap I haver played. I still don't really know why I forced myself to finish it. Guess I just don't like leaving stories half done (like I did with Skies of Arcadia...)

I'm surprised that I haven't seen j9 post in this thread yet.

From what I can ascertain, she's an expert on this thread's subject.

With exception of Persona, I'm in the same boat with Armando. Add sim raciers to the list. Uh ...

Worst game to play through ... I don't know. I suppose Neptunia series? *cringes at thought of J9 monitoring this thread*

Resident Evil Survivor on the PS1 and RE mercenaries on the 3DS. Forgot to add those to the horrible games I for some reason actually finished list.

Might want to try Amazon or check if you can order directly from Nintendo for Xenoblade, Most Gamestops in my area still have copies.

I would hop on TLS right away and not wait that one out, its going to become rare fast.

I never played the one hit Xbox game nerds gushed over.

                      Kotor and Kotor 2

Star Wars Rpg sounds cool but weird.

It's pretty fun if you played the Star Wars Saga Edition tabletop RPG. Love that system, such a shame that so few people have played it.

KotOR is good. And 2 is... different.

Also consider playing Fahrenheit (made by Quantic Dream) if you get the chance, very nice game even if the ending(s) will leave you staring at the screen for a few minutes before you can start moving again. XD

Quantic Dream games are bad in gameplay and story so I don't see why people subject themselves to it.

So... did you actually play Fahrenheit? <_<

                              Edit >

Let me put my favorite trailer here. It's as good (maybe better) than the trailer hints.

And yep I still play it from time to time.

Yeah i'm strongly considering picking up a copy if i go to the mall tomorrow to meet a friend. I'm going to do a quick online search for every EB/Gamestop in my area to see if at least 1 has Xenoblade. I've had a craving for good RPGs lately. ME was filling the void nicely until 3's ending soured it all.

Wouldn't mind finishing skies of arcadia but I don't have my dreamcast anymore... can't find any copies of the PS2 version of Grandia 2 either (though Grandia 1 is pretty cheap on PSN)

Not sure if I wanna buy Resonance of Fate. It's another game I can't seem to find anywhere except online, and my 360's storage is getting severely low (plus I'm moving soon and I don't want to incur too many expenditures as I'm still job hunting as well).
