* Only had to drag myself through because I NEEDED to have every spell in the game. Getting the last one required teamwork and I had to go out and hunt down a second and 3rd old GBA adapter for my GameCube and then teach my younger siblings to play the game... just to get the satisfaction of a 100% completion.

** Its only redeeming quality was the background story for Vincent. In hindsight I would have been equally happy watching the CS's on youtube and skipping all the "auto-aim" bullshit in between them.

*** I own it... I just haven't gotten around to playing it yet. When I first purchased it I was single... and now it just seems too embarrassing to want to play in front of the wife.

I played Dirge of Cerberus on a rental back in the day. I made it to something like the third chapter before the Worst Camera Controls in History made me give up and put Maximo back into my PS2 tray, and DoC got returned the next day.

The sad thing is, we got the hard version of that game - I can only imagine how mind-numbingly boring and easy the JP version was.

I liked DoC all right, it did fall short of potential on the hole Berzerker transformation aspect of Vincent, He only ever zerked out into one form and the use of it wasn't as varied, though he did also transform into Chaos, but that was more of a story-driven element and not a form by choice.

The big downer was the inclusion of Yuffie, had they just kept it to Vincent and Reese/Cait Sith, that would have been a bit better. Yuffie added nothing to the plot.

They added Yuffie because she's a fan favourite in Japan. Shame she didn't get any real development though since she is the only FFVII character who hasn't had any decent character development in the whole compilation.
