    Published by Bethesda.

    Could it be Assassin's Creed meets F.E.A.R.?

    ---

    Edit: Looking at this trailer it looks more like AC meets Bioshock. Hmmm...

    Considering the team is comprised of people that made Deus Ex and People that made System/BioShock, I'm going with "Its actually going to be a good game, not a whored-out franchise with no direction."

      This is probably my most anticipated release for this year next to The Last of Us. IIRC they also have some of the Deus Ex folks working on the project as well.

        First time I've heard of it, honestly.

        Looks neat - loving the environment. Almost Steampunk-ish.

          That's actually exactly what the devs are going for

            Yup, and only because it was put on the front page of Steam yesterday. <_<;

            I meant gameplay-wise, but hopefully you are right. I'm just hoping it's a massively open kind of game of bigger proportions than Deus Ex, because while Bioshock was nice it felt way too limited for me since I was already spoiled by Bethesda by the time I played it. Same with AC games, as fun as they are the lack of interaction with the world in the background really limits it's potential.

              Anyone else feel the character models are very bioshock-esque in design?

              The fact that 1 of the designers of DX:HR is working on this is really encouraging.

                That's not what this game is. Just because the publisher is Bethesda does not mean its a massive open world game. They're going to publish Doom 4 and Rage didn't really fit the whole open-world thing either, so... yeah. Just saying its by people that made Bioshock and Deus Ex should tell you to scale your expectations back and get them in-line with those franchises.

                Also, I don't think its about the size of the world so much as the density of content within it. Deus Ex Human Revolution had plenty to do for the length they ran and you could do things differently on different playthroughs.

                  Re: Dishonored

                  It seems you may be right, and while it looks interesting with some AC-ish movement I'm not liking the actual game world or the scale so far.

                  Still, this gameplay video is kinda fun to watch.

                    Watch the videos over at GT, they're all really good. One thing the devs are emphasizing is there are no boss fights - none! Each target is treated like a regular NPC, and each mission is constructed as an experience with multiple ways of approaching it. Also it's worth noting that like in Deus Ex, you can go total pacifist in this game (there's probably going to be an achievement for that as well). They also mentioned something about being able to "eventually get it right", referring to the game's opening where you fail to save the Empress. Not sure what the hell that could mean apart from a really stupid time-travel twist, or perhaps saving a future empress.
