This game looks awsome and from SE ( I am surprised)

They have even done a live action intro.

    Gameplay video

Maybe another title to get me to eventually buy a ps3.

This is actually by the developer of the True Crime games. So far it's looking good, Certainly not as tacky as the PS2 titles.

You're still taking arrows to the knees? I thought you were importing Tales of Xillia 2.

Considering how long it takes to see everything in Skyrim and Ray insists on not using Fast Travel, his adventure could hold til TES VI is out. Not to mention picking a different character build can put the game in a whole new perspective, especially so with the addition of Dawnguard.

Yeah, after all this time I still feel it's a waste for me to use Fast Travel, there is so much to see just walking around. And then there's mods.

I'm getting Xillia along with ZOE HD, but since they are not open ended worlds I'm counting on finishing them relatively fast. Problem is with games like Skyrim or GW2 that are way more time consuming, and Sleeping Dogs looks like it could be like that too. GTA + Ryu ga Gotoku + Max Payne? If they do it right it's going to consume a hefty amount of my free time. >_<

              Re: Sleeping Dogs

I actually decided to restart my Nord since she had so many magic perks that went to waste the second I built the Crossbow of Epic Pwn. Plus I like the tension of weapons with high delay in the low and intermediate game more. Plus Dawnguard Fortress may as well be my house, it has the smelter, the forge, workbench, the grindstone, arcane enchanter and alchemy lab all right next to each other and wood chopping outside. And if I quest the Aetherium Forge again and early I can power level all those crafts quickly, particularly now that I know what I need to look for.

So I'm rebuilding :p I'll still favor archery and be a werewolf, but this time one that also likes knives and unarmed combat. Sneak suplexing is cooler than backstabbing.

I didn't realize how expansive the game world was. I should try playing it sometime. I really need to take off my stupid "brand name" blinders and pick up new IP titles to play. :/

                  Re: Sleeping Dogs

If you take the plunge on Skyrim, my only piece of advice is get it on PC or 360. Bethesda games just don't pan out as well on PS3 for whatever reason. If you're looking for something more digestable under 100 hours then Kingdoms of Amalur or Dragon's Dogma can bring you similar thrill with more refined melee combat than Skyrim offers.

Though it's really those that opt for two-hand weapons only or to be pure mages that tend to struggle. As with other RPGs, sometimes a mage's best fallback is a blunt object or friend summoned from Oblivion.

Thanks for the tip! I'll probably look into a PC version since I don't own a 360 ...

I wish this game would stop looking so good. I can barely afford what I want next month and I will chose The Last Story over this >.>

                        Re: Sleeping Dogs

I'm not sure if I'm just bad at searching, but I've been completely unable to find any info on PC interface, gameplay, sound and graphics settings. Only info I've found so far is:

                        - Game uses DX11, this means Vista and Windows 7 only and compatible video cards.

                        Everything else I've found is console info onry, for some Squeenix reason I'm sure. So while pre-ordering through Steam is very tempting I think I'll just get Dawnguard (they finally released it for PC) and wait for the reviews of the PC version before buying the game. <_<;

                          Finally.

HD texture pack on day one and DX11 settings along with Mouse+Keyboard controls, and it looks pretty good using Eyefinity. Guess I'll pre-order it after all.

                            Re: Sleeping Dogs

Its awesome how just before the game releases they mention it has six months of DLC planned.

So its a good thing this was in my Gamefly queue and not something I put a full $60 down on. Best saved for The Last Story since I know that's getting released in a completed form. Most of Sleeping Dogs' initial DLC is cosmetic and I'm OK, with that, but this info sneaking in at the last minute instantly begs the question of what's missing.

You know how pre-orders work, so they better be only cosmetic themed crap. Or else.

And considering Pre-orders are a sign of faith on the part of their costumers if they try to do something stupid at this point if wont end well. Remember what happened when everyone in XI pre-ordered ACP? It took an extra game key with the other 2 addons free for me to get them, and they really had to overpower Aby to make it work. And this was for costumers that were already captive with a paid sub. So people who knows Squeenix wont let the Dogs Sleep if they screw up on this one unless the game is so freaking awesome it somehow merits throwing extra money at them.

Time to check the interwebs for more news. <_<
