        It's Romanticism.

But, since you are Murphie that probably wont mean anything to you anyway. You know.

This is beyond ridiculous, but if it scares publishers into treading a little lighter with their IP leveraging and monetization strategies, I can hardly complain.

            It really should.

The thing about this kind of stuff in the gaming industry is that it is easy enough to boycott a publisher. So if enough people makes enough noise and players agree, it has the very dangerous potential (for EAware and others like them) of catching fire and burning them to the ground. And considering the trash EAware has been releasing lately no one would really care if they missed the sequels of any of their IPs. Dragon Age III? Mass Effect Spin? Baldur's gate remake? KOTOR HD? Nope, wouldn't miss em.

And since we are still in uncharted territory when it comes to this kind of activism it can be a coin toss how it would pan out.

Yet another reason why every Corporate entity increasingly wants to censor the internet into Oblivionâ„¢. They are scared, having all these people instantly communicating with each other and organizing en masse can mean very, very bad news for them regardless of the actual outcome.

I just don't think the ending was that bad.

But I did my part, I traded in ME3 within a timeframe that it was bought used quickly by another gamer. I never had any plans to buy a EA game new again. I'm done watching the quality of Bioware degrade on the game design end. What they do with thier own stories is for them to decide. Those still bothered by the ending need to move on.

My guess is it's kinda like having a relative you care about self destructing with extremely bad decisions. So you try to make them understand and "save" them.

One way... or the other. *dundundun*

But really, if EAware keeps being stupid most people will just forget they exist the moment any worthwhile franchise makes an entrance with a good game.

I'm not sure what kind of person you think I am, Ray, but I certainly understand what romanticism is.

Do you make a list of dumb things to say during the day or are they merely the work of the moment?

I'll just add that I think its totally fair to demand a bit more transparency in regards to DLC. Its gone too far this year.

Taken together Saints Row the Third, Mass Effect 3 and Street Fighter X Tekken are some of the worst examples of monetizing a franchise and they stand but a few months apart. I'll throw in Arkham City and Amalur in for good measure, as they blocked single-player content with online passes. EA and THQ no longer get my business. Capcom is teetering on the brink. For me it will be how they handle Dragon's Dogma and Professor Layton Vs. Ace Attorney that I judge them on because I know DMC and RE6 will sell no matter what shit they pull.

To be fair, though, it looks like DmC is turning around rather well. Dante still has black hair (never a complaint I had) but he seems much more like the Dante we know and the gameplay is falling in line with expectation. Wait and see.

I just wanted to bump this for the sake of discussion:

With the "retake ME" thing dying down a little in your head, if you have Netflix, look up The People Vs. George Lucas and watch it because it provides so much insight to the whole situation and forces you to look back at the ME3 situation just a little differently than before.

You can find a little preview here (but DO NOT GO TO peoplevsgeorge.com, some funky malware shit going on there):
