PlanetSide 2 PC Game - Massive Combat on an Epic Scale
Apparently this was announced nearly a year ago, but I didn't hear about it until I saw a magazine ad for it today. If you hadn't heard of Planetside, it was an MMOFPS. Imagine Battlefield hooked into FFXI's conquest system with a Tribes-like vibe. The first one suffered from a lack of variety in gameplay and weak content updates, but I had a heck of a lot of fun with it while it lasted. It was pretty cool waking up the the morning and checking the territory map to see if your faction was able to hold the base you helped capture through the night. Beta signups are open on the site and I'm really looking forward to participating.
The alpha footage is a little underwhelming so far, but then capturing the feeling of being one of literally a hundred people laying suppressive fire down from the hills so your vanguards don't get sniped crossing the field to breach the fortress is kindof hard without said hundreds of players. Here it is anyway.
