  • ME3 ending-haters take their rage to the FTC... seriously?

Fan filing FTC complaints against EA after Mass Effect 3 ending

I think we all know that I would be the last person on Earth to play the apologist for EA or Bioware, but even so... what the hell?

I highly doubt it would be taken seriously, these people are just plain unhinged.

Makes you wish they were that passionate about the NDAA and other small things like that. Doesn't it?

I wonder if Bioware regrets making games for a mainstream audience now.

It's ok, they aren't Bioware anymore anyway. It's just a hollow mask EA puts on to sell interactive B movies to the masses.

I'll spoiler this, but this is a video that explains the ending like a pro. Its about 13 mins long.

                    Assuming control...

PS > Nice video, it almost makes me want to... watch other spoiler videos. There's no chance in hell I'll buy anything from EAware again.

Sooo, looking forward to ME4 spoiler videos.

Dude revised and expanded the video to make an even better case.

To Mass Effect 3 players, from Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder of BioWare | BioWare Blog

So they're going to do ending DLC.

Hear that sucking noise? It's Bioware's artistic integrity getting spaced out the airlock.

Not that there was much left. I doubted they'd have any left once they were done with ME3 anyway. They say they're listening to their "constructive" fan feedback and ignoring the rest, but the fact they're going with this at all just shows they fear that vocal, unhinged sector of the fanbase they cultivated by letting them put Bioware on a pedestal.

Obviously the best solution would have been to get the ending right in the first place, and if they felt strongly about the artistic merit what they shipped, the boss thing to do would be to stand by it in spite of the criticism, but neither of those things being true, don't you think they should fix it since they clearly have the power to do so?

I assume that the reason ME3's ending is so awkward is because the game got rushed out the door before the ending could be completed properly. Leaving the ending "as-is" would take a stand for artistic integrity only if the final product was the original artistic intent, and that's obviously not true. The rest of the storylines in ME3 are crafted with a lot of TLC (see: the many excellent ways that the krogan/salarian situation plays out no matter which decisions you've made in the past), so much so that I refuse to believe that the endings in ME3 (all of them) were what was intended.

Going back and fixing things so that the ending at least makes a little more sense is the best thing they can do at this point.
