By the look of it it's going to be Baldur's Gate HD from the limited stuff we know. I'm not complaining since I love BG and it's not aged well at all.

I'll get angry again when it's closer to actually materializing. It sounds pretty unlikely right now, and I still don't see how they'd continue the story from where Throne of Bhaal ended.

Seriously, where do you go after the player ascends to godhood? Time of Troubles 2.0? That'd be pretty damn convenient and poor writing to boot.

I still think the remake is dumb for trying to add content rather than just doing a graphical overhaul. Why does the industry always feel the need to fix what isn't broken?

Normally I'd agree, but they're adding sidequests rather than changing anything in regard to the main quests themselves. More sidequests are bad? Gotta have something for the old fans, since the graphics overhaul is mostly there to attract new players - and lets just admit it hasn't aged well visually.

Honestly, I don't understand why anyone complains about HD remasters, enhanced ports or remakes so long as they're done well and handled by the right people. Ubisofts HD and 3D remasters are ass, but Blupoint and these guys seem to do alright.

Because the game is so totally not available with Good Old Games offering it for ten bucks, right? The main thing I see the remake bringing to the table is a marketing campaign that will raise awareness of the game's existence for those who missed Baldur's Gate the first time around.
