Re: FFXIII-2 gameplay, strategies, comments, etc...

What spoilers? Area names really don't spoil anything, and there's been no plot specifics mentioned.

Anyhoo, I have a maxed level Cloudburst finally, just need to get him the right abilities to get him at peak efficiency. I'm also capable of whacking Yomi at a decent pace now as well, so Gil is no longer an issue

Well, it's official, SE has set the standard for a new low in DLC/game design. Warning, massive FFXIII-2 spoilers ahead.

        What the FUCK SE?!

I rented the game, so no.

And even if I had bought it, no. This is a whole new level of bullshit, you do not keep the ending of a game reserved for DLC.

Of course, plenty of people WILL buy it, like the good little consumer whores they are, and give SE more incentive to continue. Christ and I thought Capcom & Activision were bad with DLC... this really takes the cake.

EDIT: Also, Time Master is MINE! Now to return this hellspawn and never look upon it again.

If they are going to do this crap, whether to deter used game buyers or pirates then they should sell the game way cheaper. Then, and only then would this tactic have some merit.

But selling half a game at full price in order to DLC the real "final" chapters is just SE's way of giving everyone the Olympic finger.

What is the point of spoilering something if you're just going to post the fucking ending info anyway? Thanks for that, I only just got the game \o/

Also is it me or is the AI just bad at Commando and Medic? There doesn't seem to be any point in even giving Noel point in both especially when pets are so much better at it than him, and the AI is ridiculously slow at healing anyway.

The only reason to level up Medic on Noel is if for some reason you'd want a Medic/Medic/Medic paradigm setup. I can't think of too many situations where that would be useful, however, that couldn't be handled as well/better by Sentinel/Medic/Medic or better yet Commando/Medic/Medic so you can keep up your chain combo while healing.

Aside from that, leveling up Medic always gives you HP (same as Sentinel), so if you're doing a HP-heavy build I "suppose" it might be helpful, as you can get around 1200 extra HP that way (at the cost of STR or MAG bonuses).

The AI isn't actually bad at Medic. It IS sort of bad at Commando, especially when choosing area attacks if you have a "-W" paradigm setup. It will often do something absurd like Blitz or Ruinga a single enemy because something moved.

Re: FFXIII-2 gameplay, strategies, comments, etc...

I don't consider announcing that it's a cliff-hanger/to be continued that much of a spoiler (the actual ending was inside the spoiler tag, that's why I used the tag so TS if you got mad after reading that), if at all.

I'm going to rant about this at length during the next podcast, but suffice to say this is just utter BS. At least Bioware was smart when they did it with ME2, because you already knew there was going to be a 3rd part, and the DLC that came afterwards was a bridge between 2 and 3, and not the full ending of the story. What SE has done, is deliberately withold the true ending of the game in order to milk people via DLC, as they've expressed no desire to make FF13-3 (and besides, that would really be pushing the envelope especially after XIII-2's sales numbers).

This is why I say Kitase and Tanaka need to gtfo, now. Tanaka is, as far as I'm concerned, dragging down XI kicking & screaming and 13-2 is just the latest in a list of grievances with Kitase. Wada needs to lay down the law and get the company's shit together. They are lucky as hell to have Eidos under their thumb right now as DX:HR pretty much carried them for last year.

help guys... I'm stuck. I'm back i time where im trying to help out hunters. they have this device to change the weather aand the weather spawns different mobs. well you need to get it sunny for the mob to pop that you need to kill to progress on. well, the mob you need to kill is behind one of those huge mega mobs! one that kills you in one strike. it looks like the 4 legged machine from the empire strikes back that you have to tie its legs up so i colapses. anyways, the only hint you get on how to handle this thing from the map is to "move" this thing. well i tried changing the weather to move it, and it will move, but the mob we have to kill dispapears too. the only way to keep the mob you nee dto kill there is to keep the huge ultima mob there. help! pm me if its spoilers please. or hide in spoilers. im stuck... going to bed in my new bed!

I'm assuming you mean the Long Gui, which thank fuck was nerfed quite a bit from FF XIII.

You don't need to kill it, not until very late into the game when you're hunting down the last couple of fragments. The marks you DO need to kill are the Wyvern as part of the story, followed by Invincible (Cloudy/Amber sky), Ochu (Rain) and finally Yomi (Thunderstorms). There's also the 4 Gigantocactuar, red cactuar statues and the golden cactuar. Finishing those will get you access to the marshes to the west, chocobos, and unlock the sealed gate (wild artefact required once it's unsealed)

Seriously, leave the long gui the hell alone until you've got the great Chichu, aka "The Destroyer of the Timeline" rofl. That thing is seriously OP if you follow the leveling guide for him. It's up on youtube and various forums. He's the best COM in the game and you want to spec him for as much ATK as possible, though Power Crystals are a right pain in the ass to farm without a Durable Collector's Catalog and even then.

oh, so even though the goal of this area im a is to kill a mob behind that big creature, i dont really need to kill it yet? just go on to other areas and come back and kill it later?

To get to the wyvern, all you need to do is fiddle with the levers until it's rainy/stormy and it will go away. The Long Gui doesn't like storms.
