I never played Lineage or Lineage II, but this game looks really interesting. I'm also a fan of the top-down camera.

Lineage has a loyal following but considering it's from NCSoft, it's really a hit or miss, depending on your particular likes (or dislikes) It's the typical Asian MMORPG with grinding elements, so that's the roadside caution I'm gonna throw up for you. I think Lineage is F2P. L2 has like 14 million (supposed) subscribers, the bulk of that are from Asian countries, primarily in Korea, China and Japan, but a strong contingency from Thailand and Vietnam.

As far as L3 goes (aka Lineage Eternal), considering that the development team are still working on the game engine in-house (since they denied that are using Unreal Engine 3, as first rumored), there isn't going to be much information for at least another 6 months, if not longer especially if it's going to be released as F2P.

Lineage 2 is terrible, flat out terrible. Really nice graphics for its time, awesome visual style, but it's all thrown away with grind-focused gameplay. I'm not sure what to expect with this, but it doesn't look that exciting.

I never got in to the Lineage series and I have no interest in doing so, I just wanted to share this information and I did think what they've shown so far looks promising and worth a look when it's closer to release. Thanks for the info Aeni!

Not even gonna vouch for this, L3 looks good but I bet you it won't live up to expectations.
