Starting out, PSU was several steps backward from what PSO was and only got bearable by PS Portable 2.

The only real improvement over PSO was character customization.

I never understood this, I have heard a few other people say this, and I dont get it, I played PSO and PSU, and felt that that PSU improved on the battle system, although I will admit not by much, untill PSP2 that is.

To be honest I've always got confused between the versions of this game.

Is this the game in question or another one in the series?

A Star Ocean MMO could have potential, mew, but SE is busy with FFXIV and it would take a good team to make a good Star Ocean MMO, mew, even a PSO or WKC quality one.

It seems there has yet to be a big company that cares to explore innovating mmorpgs more towards adventuring and heroism rather than mainly looting, farming and crafting.

I was telling my boss that I never really get a new system until there are at least 5 games I want for it.......well now I have my 5 for the Vita.... PSO2, PSO2, PSO2, PSO2, and PSO2 ^.^

I don't normally buy games twice, but I did with FFXI, (had it for all three systems) and I will do it here.

F2P is all well and good, it just all depends on how Sega manages the balance between the game and the microtransaction elements.

But if the history of Phantasy Star online games has shown me anything the answer to that will likely be "it will not be handled well."

In game balance and fixes have never been something Sega addressed except in subsequent paid versions of a a PS game.
