Other than checking my sales on the AH I'm not even touching Diablo 3 until at the least the next big patch is up.

I'm really starting to back the growing notion that Blizzard should just reset the whole god damn game. Wipe everyone's characters and gold (but not achievements) for a fresh restart because there is simply way, way too much duped gold and items.

One asshole gold farmer is claiming to have 500 billion gold on the official forums! THAT'S INSANE! I've also just started to see items on the AH for lv 60 cross the billion gold threshold. A few days ago the highest item I'd seen was about 30 mil. A few days. Now we're into billions.

Even guys like Psystarcraft don't have that kind of gold.

In other news, I had to reroll my Monk because I got hit with the achievement bug (one of the reasons why the servers were brought down for those three-odd hours yesterday.) Oh well. Stole all my gear off of her and just stuffed it in my stash. Overpowered leveling gear gogo.

oh I am sorry.... is asking to play a single player mode of a game offline to much to ask for in this day and age? I have to side with Firewind View Post here...... It is a bit ridiculous to ask people to connect to the internet to play single player mode -.- They could have done the same thing that they did with D2, offline mode/open battle net client side saving, and closed battle net server side saving.

People were listing crap with 2 billion gold buyouts weeks ago. I specifically noted it to you. That doesn't mean people are buying at those prices.

I like how all these measures were taken to prevent hacking, duping and sweatshop RMTs and hacking, duping and sweatshop RMTs happened anyway. The RMAH panned out exactly as it would - players rush in and inflate things to ridiculous proportions. Once the sweatshop RMTs get what they can out of this, they'll just deflate the RMAH to the point no real player wants to touch it.

That is, if things settle now that cash and gold have an exchange rate on the AH people will think twice about selling simply for gold. If 1 million gold is $10 (going by Task's spear), people might start duping for easy real money

So the RMAH remains the stupidest fucking thing this year. I already know a few folks that quit the day it was implemented.

I don't really understand that last point.

What does quitting prove, exactly? You're not paying a subscription, so Blizzard's not losing on any money. And no one HAS to use the AH - it's there for convenience. It's incredibly annoying to see shit like this, but ultimately players got by just fine in D1 and D2 without an AH. There's this neat little thing called Nephalem Valor

I'm personally holding out for balance changes, as a lot of the runes for various skills are just stupidly weak. This in conjunction with the absolutely absurd level of damage monsters can do even on Nightmare pidgeonholes the classes worse than LoD did with all the retarded immunities. At least with immunities there ways around them like necromancer curses (witch doctor is a poor man's necro, it really is) and synergies really helped revive/create new builds. But there is something fundamentally wrong with the game when a lv 60 barbarian with 10k armor and 1450 resist all elements gets 2-shotted in Act2 and beyond! I forget the guy's exact HP total but it's damn high (50k-ish I think?) and with all his armor and resist, he takes about 9% total damage of mob's original dps which he calculated out to be 137.5k

137,500 FUCKING DAMAGE A SWING! WTF IS THAT BLIZZARD?! Inferno is not a challenge, it's my pet peeve that I refer to as "Artificial Difficulty" which is basically the lazy developer's way of making things "harder" by cranking up the AI's stats to compensate for higher skilled players.

What's even crazier is that with Inferno, they allegedly figured out values that were "reasonable" and then just doubled everything... So even without that, that would mean the enemies would still be hitting for nearly 70k a swing? WTF? No Blizzard, I will not subject myself to your bullshit. I enjoyed the game's campaign immensely but overall I'm rather dissatisfied with your game as you seem to have forgotten some key things that made Diablo 2 so re-playable.

If you're talking about Psy getting 2-shat by Shatterbone, I'm pretty sure he was not using his real gear for that. He threw on MF for comic value. I only have about 6k armor, 700 resists and 30k life on my wizard and even I can take more than 2 hits in act 2 (without force armor). Certain monsters in act 3 can do 60-90% of my life in damage in one hit, but that's to be expected given my level of gear. Inferno balance is bad, but you're blowing things out of proportion by orders of magnitude.

I beat the game twice on Normal and got bored with it. Fun game, but I'm not into chasing loot all the time. Once PvP is released, I'll have to reconsider. I want to stay competitive, but it'll all depend on how Blizzard works out their brackets.

Act 2 mobs are bullshit. Upgraded gear, dealt with it and now farming siegebreaker beasts. You haven't even gotten to the part of the content that's broken. Blizzard has stated they feel act 1 inferno is perfectly balanced and they don't plan to change it. Considering how faceroll easy butcher runs are now, it's hard to disagree.

You have to admit though, that it's retarded how much damage they deal even with all kinds of armor and resist gear. But compounding that problem is the lack of drops for gear needed to deal with Inferno, something that 1.0.3 is dealing with so that's why I'm waiting - so I can farm A3 & A4 Hell or even Whimsyshire Hell.

It is messed up and it does need fixing. I'm just puzzled that you'd stop now and be so vehement on the subject when you're still in a perfectly playable area of the game and haven't even gotten to the real bullshit yet. At that it isn't as if acts 2-4 are unplayable. They are crazy hard and it takes some grinding for gear to be able to cope, especially for melee classes, but it's still possible to progress and it feels awesome to force your way through an area that was impossible days ago.

I'm enjoying FFXIV right now, as I'm 43 GLA now and have 3 of the 5 PLD quests under mah belt mew!

I have the game on the backburner. Like Mal, I'm really enjoying FFXIV thanks to that LS I found myself in. Not to mention, the RMAH is bullshit. I thought OGP charged way too much for their stuff, but $30 for a weapon? I understand it's community based... but wtf? No.
