    Eh I'm sick of Whimsyshire.

It was a hilarious acid trip the first time, now it just hurts my eyes and annoys me when I go back. I miss D2's cow level.

It's the same with me. Those that said, I had one, but still got hacked, then will then retract that statement and self correct by saying (as the author of that article on Ars said) that they got the authenticator attached, but a couple of days AFTER their account was already compromised and didn't notice that they were already compromised because they didn't log in to a game for those days. And I still know people that don't have an authenticator, own a smartphone AND share their accounts with other people. Talk about being full of security risks.

I think there's a legendary amulet and some other goodies that only drop off the unique mobs in the shire.

Getting more than a bit frustrated that I can practically faceroll all but the most bullshit encounters in act 1, but even the normal mobs in the first area of act 2 kill me so fast that it's almost not worth attempting.

I have hit a rather nasty brickwall on my Witch Doctor and am taking a small break.

I swear the pets need *major* buffing if they are going to remain viable skills past nightmare.

Does the Witchdoctor seem out of place? - Forums - Diablo III
While the intent is for witch doctors to re-summon Zombie Dogs and Gargantuan fairly often, we agree that pets aren't living long enough in higher difficulty levels. Of course, the harder difficulties are supposed to be more challenging, but we don't think it's fun gameplay to cast Zombie Dogs, watch them die almost instantly, wait for the cooldown to reset, re-cast Zombie Dogs, watch them die almost instantly...etc. And this is happening even when players are wearing pretty reasonable gear.

We're looking into ways to improve witch doctor pet survivability at later levels, but we don't have any clear plans to share just yet. One thing we're considering, though, is having pets scale with your Vitality (which they currently do not do).

Crafting stuff: I got blacksmith plans for Exalted Pallium and Exalted Sovereign Helm, which are rare tier 15 shoulders and helm, respectively. They cost 50k and an armful of materials to make. I've given each of them about 6 rolls each and today Haedrig handed me these:

I added the gem, obviously. 6k to craft the perfect square. The pauldrons are shockingly worth 800k+ and 40%+ gold find helms are worth well over a mil, so that's ~2M gross profit vs 300k crafting costs and whatever it cost to level Haedrig to 10. I'd say he's paid his way and then some.

Also, I had heard that in order to make level 60 set items, you had to salvage legendaries. I confirmed that Fiery Brimstone does in fact come from salvaging level 60 legendaries by buying a Sever off the AH for 45k, but then the next day I saw this:

That's brimstone coming from a blue level 60 follower relic. So apparently you can get brimstone without buying up junk legendaries, you just have to be pretty lucky. I've salvaged perhaps a hundred level 60 blues and only seen this once.

                    @TM

Blues will give you the "top" mat for each tier level but at a very reduced rate (compared with the yellow items) However, I've heard rumors on how MF can affect salvaging, but those are just rumors until someone actually does an exhaustive study with a large sample size. Right now, all I'm going on is anecdotal evidence, so your mileage will vary.

So, more than 48 hours later TM....did you manage to sell those pauldrons for 800k?

I have yet to sell anything aside from resist gear for more than 50k in the past week. I have a 3rd bank tab, and two alts full of 50-60 rare's that just will not sell; mind you these are not the typical filler crap you get...everything has over 700dps minimum in terms of weapons and everything else has a good roll of a primary stat, vitality, and/or resist/attack speed/etc.

I can't check right now, but when I went to bed they had a 600k bid on them.

There's definitely some item inflation going on already as more people get to higher levels and good items flood into the market at an increasing rate. Stuff that would have been 20k last week is now going for 10k, 50k stuff for 25, etc. Even over the course of one auction, if I overprice something and it doesn't sell, I usually have to revise my appraisal down by 30% because the market has moved. It's great for finding deals, but getting any of my own loot to sell is a major pain right now. Hopefully by the time I've saved up 10-15M for a good 1k+ dps weapon, they'll be down to 8-10M for the same performance.

Scaling pet health with Vitality? THAT is Blizzard's idea for fixing the Witch Doctor's balance problem? Why not just give them damage resistance scaled to the difficulty, instead of artificially forcing players to wear gear with a specific affix.

I said it before, I'll say it again, Blizzard's ideas about game balance are borderline psychotic.

Player testing seems to indicate that pets' armor, dodge and resistances scale with the WD's strength, dexterity and intelligence respectively, so having their hp not scale with vitality is a weird omission. Wizard's mirror images scale to the caster's hp, why shouldn't dogs?

I don't think it's that weird to incentivise players focusing on different skills to favor different gear affixes. You can choose not to use crit skills if you don't want to stack crit gear, or forego One With Everything if chasing a specific resist crimps your gear choices too much. Witch doctors are surviving inferno now without dogs; if you don't like stacking vit you don't have to use them.
