  • Dinobots not included: The Legend of Grimlock

    This is a first person dungeon crawler coming out in march, akin to the older vector dungeons of the 80s and 90s, with a dash of tougelike grid-based combat.



    Supposed to come out in March on PC, but I have to say I like that another game like this (and its brutal sensibilities) has come along in some form.

        Isn't the game actually called "Legend of Grimrock"? If so, topic title is fail.

        As for the gameplay, I love me some rogue-likes and dungeon crawlers, but the "let's throw throwing knives and have to remember to mouse-click and pick them up afterwards" is more tedium than I think I want to deal with.

          Yeah I wish that in life, so often as it is in video game, that I just had to walk over something in order to pick it up.

          So damn annoying that I have to pull my arrows out of corpses in Skyrim, I should just be able to walk over them to get them back. Then again, when its a really awesome shot - like through the ears or BAM right in the kisser - I kinda want to leave the arrow there.

          I'm an arrow recycler... mostly.

            It's a fantasy game built as an abstraction. I appreciate it when game designs filter away stupid tedious garbage like "let's pick up ammo that we can re-use". When even modern rogue-likes have functions that automatically pick up ammunition you've previously used, there's no excuse for such pointless grinding behavior in other games.

            Skyrim gets away with it because arrows are common as dirt in that game.

              They're pretty stingy with the Orgish/Dwarven arrows.

              Iron are common, Forsworn arrows aren't even worth looting.

                By the time you perk up your arrow damage, especially if firing from stealth, it hardly matters what sort of arrow you use on anything except a boss, so basically you can just save the glass/orcish/dwarven for tough enemies and re-loot those from the bodies if needed. The rest aren't worth losing any sleep over.
