Re: SKYWARD SWORD - "Best Zelda Game Ever"
some of you are stuck at work or busy with something else that keeps you from being able to play it.
I'm stuck 7400 miles away from my Wii; and even if I were to have it shipped and wait a week or two to get it, I don't have a television to play it on.
Re: SKYWARD SWORD - "Best Zelda Game Ever"
If it makes you feel any better, I only watched a friend play it for about an hour and a half. I bought the game as a birthday present for my girlfriend who lives in Florida, and neither of us have time to play it 'til school's out in December. Can't play 'til I visit her for Christmas.
Master, my analysis indicates that this is indeed the best Zelda game ever.
It's great so far, Fi is already my favorite sidekick of the series for her Commander Data delivery and her tendency to startle others by popping out of the sword and chiming in.
She had that Trodain/Yangus effect on things. Her autotuned voice is also oddly soothing, whereas Midna's Ewok/Mogwai-like chatter got on my nerves.
Re: SKYWARD SWORD - "Best Zelda Game Ever"
Two dungeons down, one more to go for what I'm assuming is Act 1 here. The second dungeon boss wasn't as hard as the first, but the experience was still quite unique compared to past bosses.
Also, Kefka + Sephiroth = Ghirahim. Its like he's a bipolar version of those two villains. First he's all confidant and polite while interjecting sadistic, sinister stuff into his words and then when his plans seem foiled he goes into a Kefka temper-tantrum.
Re: SKYWARD SWORD - "Best Zelda Game Ever"
I just recieved the Limited Edition. Managed to get it at around $70 on a UK store with free shipping, since it was around $150+ over here in Australia. I have only opened it to check out the WiiMote so far.
I haven't been this excited for a Zelda game since Ocarina of Time came out for the N64! Can't wait to get some time to start playing.
Re: SKYWARD SWORD - "Best Zelda Game Ever"
Received it on Saturday, already put 16 hours into it! This Zelda is definitely more difficult, I have died once already and I usually never die; have come really close a few other times. There's never a dull moment, never a part where you really go, ok, I think I'm getting tired for now and want to take a break. Which is why I played it all weekend.
Re: SKYWARD SWORD - "Best Zelda Game Ever"
Yeah, that's the one thing I've found out about this Zelda. There's lots of variety and challenge, but after a while I actually do have to take a break from it. I'm on the cusp of doing the fifth dungeon, but I want to upgrade by shield so I'm actually hunting birds in the areas preceding it.
I almost groaned at the resurgence of a particular element from Twilight Princess, but the way they implemented it in SS there's actually an edge and a bit of fun to the concept, as its putting your knowledge of an area to the test rather than making that area filler to pad out more game.
Skyward Sword is a game that puts its overworld to good use, which I haven't been able to say about a Zelda since Majora's Mask, really.
Re: SKYWARD SWORD - "Best Zelda Game Ever"
It's true, even Ocarina didn't put its overworld to much use. Out of all the 3D Zeldas, the only ones thus far to have really good overworlds have been this one and Majora's. WW basically didn't have one and TP's was just empty.
Spoilers for after 3rd dungeon
So how are you liking that leaf-blower? Haha. It's a lot of fun to play around with but I'm seeing it become more useless as the game goes on. Here's to completely random but fun new Zelda items...
