I know I am not the only Tales of fan on the forums.

These snuck onto GameTrailers a couple of days ago, but got quickly pushed back by a slew of new stuff. Namdai was showing off a bunch of new games and Tales of Graces F was in the mix.

Can't hear the VAs in any of them, but that's not really a big deal. From the looks of it, not much is different in terms of terms from the JPN version. Only noted minor differences are Arles is now Ereth, Arles Rise is now Ereth Burst, Blast Calibers are now Mystic Artes (which makes sense to avoid any confusion) and Hubert's first MA is Broadside Waltz (was Instant Valse).

Early 2012 is the release window for the US, Summer for Europe.

Looking forward to this, actually. I hear Graces isn't the best title in the Tales series, but considering how few JRPGs are released these days (let alone ones that are even halfway competent on the current consoles), I feel like I should support this.

I'm looking forward to it as well. Part of the reason I am going to work during winter break is so I can get myself a PS3 (and also not skate on the borderline of being completely broke. But I have no debt, so still a win in my book).

Some "fans" are being "whaaaaaaaa" because of the name changes from the Japanese version to the English version and saying they won't buy the game. God forbid they make an attack actually sound grammatically correct in English.

But they better buy it if they want to get Xillia.

I don't care about Abyss 3D (of all of the things that JRPGs need, 3D paint jobs are the least of them), but if Tales of Xillia doesn't get localized a basket of kittens is going to get vaporized.

Aaand this is the part where I say how glad I am that my Japanese is currently at a decent enough level to play the original Japanese games without struggling that much with kanjis.

I can understand the rerelease of Abyss in Japan because the US release had some extras the JPN version didn't (Ion extension for Luke, "Sacred Penance" Extension for Tear, Brilliant Overlord for Guy and Noble Roar for Natalia for example). Releasing in Europe makes sense since it was never released there, but for the US, it feels kind of meh. I'm replaying it right now and while no load times and world map lag would be nice, it doesn't really warrant a repurchase.

The US release date for Abyss 3D is Feb 14th. So Graces F is probably April or May I guess. Europe Abyss is Nov 25th, which is stupid because it is smack dab in the middle of Mario Land and Mario Kart releases.

And Ray, there is a reason Tales of Fans appreciate the English translations. Her name is Anise Tatlin and her Japanese voice is so annoying that is makes nails on chalkboard sound like Tchaikovsky.

I just dislike localizations, dubs and other changes like that because of how they usually distort the original material.

But if english speaking gamers like the changes then it's ok, I'll always get the japanese version instead.
