people really need to get off the "hate gamestop" train, it really is sad, people keep saying "oh well I cant return it because it is already opened even though I was not the one that opened it" even though GS themselves said that if you had a problem you could return to the store where you bought it, and they would help you (aka return it)

GS has the return it if you dont like it on used items, and to be honest the selling of gutted copies of games dont happen all that often unless we are just running that low, and again, we tell you it is open when we sell those, and it is your choice to not buy it.

Just who are you trying to kid here? Us or yourself? I've literally watched as GS employees at the store I frequent (and yes, I do go to GameStop, so no I'm not "hating just to hate") gut entire stacks of new games. Never stuff that was just released, mind you, but certainly within a few weeks of release.

I understand wanting a box for display purposes in your new games section that doesn't have the disc in it, but if you're going to gut that box, it should be sold as used product, not new. Department stores and big box retailers always sell floor models at "scratch and dent" pricing, why should GameStop be the exception?

I can tell you for one thing, if they've done that here in Ontario they are in for some pretty huge fines from the OPP. The clerks who sold the copies might even get jail time, and the store could possibly be shut down. Ontario is very strict on this shit. I remember being told when I did my co-op in highschool back at microplay, the fines ranged from $5~20,000 and I would have been the one liable. It's to protect consumers against piracy.

If people are soooo upset about GS, then stop buying there, simple as that. I find it so hypocritical that so many see to want to bitch over and over about GS this and GS that, yet continue to shop there.........

It's not about buying it you dumbass. I don't buy stuff from Gamestop. I haven't in a long time. It's about people being stupid and pretending everything's hunky dory when it's shady as hell and people should be calling Gamestop out on their shit, not defending it.

Look, if you don't like poop on pizza, don't buy pizza with poop on it. Simple as that. Just don't act like there's anything wrong with poopting on pizza and selling it to people who should know full well the pizza they're buying has poop on it. It's not like anyone is forcing you to eat poop pizza. Most of the pizza has never even touched poop, so what's your problem?

If I owned or managed a business, the first thing I would want my hourly employees to do when met with a complaint about our business practices would be to tell people simply to shop elsewhere if they don't like one of our policies.

I mean, at the end of the day, Gamestop has incredible market saturation. They may lose customers with every move they make, but until someone else who does things better and is just as convenient to get to comes along, they're going to be fine. But still, telling people to just not patronize your employer because they have a completely valid complaint about one of your business practices? Well, that is just hilarious to me.

Ok i Like how this is said. let me go through this another way for you.


For you women, Would you buy a package of tampons that where opened and stuff from the box was removed.


For you men, Would you buy a package of condoms that were opened and then resold?
What if the package contained 12 Trojan condoms and one sample from say Adam and Eve who Trojan was doing business with. But the store only had a contract with Trojan and Adam and Eve was their competitor. I would not purchase that box of condoms because it was opened. How do i know what was done to it. How do I know it was or is in the original packaging. I don't and I think this is why people are so upset.

You are purchasing a product you trust to be free of malicious software. I know if it is unsealed the manufacturer is guaranteeing that there is no malicious stuff going on. If It is opened then I don't know what was placed in it's place and it could be a real good copy with a small little program to do harm. If this is the case who do I blame? The manufacturer? or the Seller? The chain of custody was broke.

I honestly dont think GS needed to even do this, I find it sad that they chickened out.

But what ever corporate will always chicken out instead of standing up to their decisions, and people that got "shafted" will get something nice out of it (basically they are getting DeusX free, even though their game was perfectly fine)

I am just glad to hear that the person that posted the corporate email in the first place was fired.
