I can't be arsed to sift through google results so I'm just gonna ask: Raydeus, what do you use to edit spells and shouts? Is there a file I can edit or something?

You can use... THE EDITOR!!! Srsly though, the entire game is up for editing through the Creation Kit. It'll take some time to learn what does what, and some things can't be done or can't be done without a little work-around magic.

What do you want to change?

I seem to recall him banging on about it well before the creation kit was out so learning to use that clearly isn't a necessary hurdle.

I was thinking about tweaking the Illusion spells. Reducing mp costs or adjusting the level cap for enemies they'll affect. Mostly I just wanted to see what was readily available to tweak by just altering a few integers.

The entire process is usually sifting through .esp files, if you're having trouble doing this then use the mod manager. The one for Oblivion was very good. TES V Skyrim's files are the same as Oblivion. That being said if you're using the mod tool creator, then you'll have a hard time. Hope that helped.

I cant figure out for the life of me why the Steam Cloud hates me so much. I've got my PC and my laptop both set to sync to the cloud and they're both up to date with every update and driver and bla bla bla. I don't run any mods on either system.

So why on earth will my Laptop not pick up on the Sync? It keeps failing and telling me it can't sync to the cloud to retrieve the info. All I want is to be able to fiddle around with crafting at work and then save, go home and continue along in my quests on the same save file.

For the record: This syncing thing has been a problem since day 1. It has never worked. I've set and reset and tweaked and retweaked everything I can think of and nothing seems to make it work.

Am i missing something painfully stupid that is going to make me hate myself?

Does the problem persist at home or only on your terribad airport wi-fi? Because it would not surprise me at all if that was the issue.

Sounds like the problem I had with Raptr when I needed to Sync my Pandora Saga hours along with my other games on my Xbox. Do they have a hotline you can call and ask questions about? I mean, I'm not sure if this helps or not but with Raptr there was a manual option to sync your hours and update them. Not sure if you have the same issue. However Raptr can also sync up to Steam. I did some troubleshooting on my end and I did the following.

-Checked my Login information, making sure the two accounts I was syncing.
-Sent Raptr a troubleshooting message.
-Would set my Sync time to manual for every 3 hours of playtime I had for a game.

Regardless, I'm too busy at work today to pull out the laptop and play with whatever solution they come up with for me... but it's still annoying.

I've never used Steam Cloud, but do you get benefits from it? I know for Raptr if you log so many hours they give you rewards and things like that. But all is well that ends well, good luck to you in fixing the issue. -Melody

Worst case senario, I'll just have to pull the save files directly from the folders and copy them over every time. It'd be annoying but it would serve the same purpose until I can find a better solution.

Steam Cloud is the reason why I lost ALL of my deck unlocks on Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 as well as the cards from the expansions and deck packs being locked out so it's impossible for me to play them.

Thankfully it is literally 6 bytes of data in your Steam profile (that is for some reason stored clientside )that you need to change to hack that game to unlock all of the decks with foil conversions for free. Then you disable Steam Cloud and hey look! I got all of the decks back that I both grinded and paid money for to unlock fully! I didn't get my multiplayer stats, or achievements back but I couldn't care less about e-peen shit.

The bug is that bad EVEN WOTC ARE TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT IT BECAUSE THEY CAN'T FIX IT. It's directly caused by STeam Cloud which is nothing that the devs can alter.

Basically never enable Steam Cloud. If you want storage for your saves, use Dropbox or a USB Stick instead.
