    I'm level 26 atm with level 53 destruction, and I wreck shit. Early on in the game fighting is tough because you dont have strong magic and you can run out of mp fast. that's why you just keep a 2 handed sword keyed up in favorites and blast while retresting backwards from the enemy, when you run out of mp, switch to the 2 handed sword and slay the bitch! use heavy armor at first and then once you get some good mage spells (firebolt) you can switch to mana regen light armor. A dual wielded fire bolt can stun lock anything. Dragons, dragon priests, etc. Stun locking them is my favorite battle plan. I also have a 2 handed sword of mana regen, so sometimes I'll dual wiled fireball, i can get 5 doubles off before out of mp (5 doubles can wreck shit) and then switch to the mana regen 2 handed sword, get me mp back, then dual wileding fire balls all over again.

    Also, early on as a mage, you need to keep your distance, and want to avoid enemies of 3 or more since they just swarm your ass. My views are opposite Cid's, I'm loving mage...

Followers are not as much of a help because I have to wait for them to follow me because they always take the long way around. Or get lost altogether. Maybe a stealthy mage would be an interesting idea.

      But, I'm sure to nobody's surprise, I'm trying to make a mage-warrior "spellsword" type of character. Eh though, I hear the later parts of the game aren't very friendly to characters that are too generalist. Hoping I'm not spreading myself too thin right now.

      Really a shame this game can't have an online mode of any sort. Certainly not on the level of an MMO, but it seems like it would be such a strong candidate to at least play with 1 or 2 friends or something. Seems like such a huge waste to develop a character in such a vast world and nobody to share it with.

      As for the guilds, the storyline I'm going to focus on progressing through is the College of Winterhold one too.

      Depends on what type of spellsword you are. With a sword and One-Handed enchants, along with a fast healing spell - I'm unstoppable. Not to mention I still have my summons in case I need that extra firepower.

        well, my new adventures in Skyrim 360 edition are interesting. I made a Nord and call her Nia Mistquiver.

        NPCs say a lot more in this version. I'm not talking about the little scenarios you get when first walking into a city, but that the NPCs in the 360 version seem to move on to other lines of dialog they have while the PS3 version seems to keep them to half of the generic dialog they'd usually spew, so its actually less annoying to walk into Whiterun now.

        Since I did end up with a 4GB 360, I remedied the issue of installs with a USB thumbdrive for whatever I'll actively be playing that requires an intall. This makes those saves and autosaves easy to bear and loading back up opon death is a LOT less painless for it. I think I've had one moment of freeze-up in several hours of play, but that was very slight in contrast to letting the game run off the disc, where it could gum up for a few minutes at a time.. The disk doesn't spin much at all after the initial start up now.

          Skyrim welcomed me back with open arms. I really missed the scenery just traveling around.

          Also had a couple of odd encounters already, one of them the result of my one time doing heavy drinking. <_<;

            Wait till you get Destruction a bit higher and maybe enchant some Enchantment-based -Destruction mana cost items. Dual cast Ice Storm is frighteningly good at wrecking swarms of enemies, since it stuns everyone it hits in its path.

              So as of late I've been enchanting steel daggers with absorb health enchantment and I've been selling them for like $500-600. This drains the town of Whiterun fast. I sell to the wife at the blacksmith area, i sell to the guy inside, the archerer store across the way, and then to the lady that runs the magic shop in town. After this I still have alot of enchanted steel daggers left, especially if i've killed a dragon and I'm selling dragon bones and scales is it? Anyways, where else do you guys go to sell enchanted weapons? Is there a better place than Whiterun? Should i be saving all those damn heavy dragon bones? I'm guessing they are used to make dragon armor which I'm close to, 77 blacksmith atm. BBQ, is till havent found the banishment enchantment you were talking about.

                You really shouldn't save dragon bones. I made that mistake on my first play through, they just end up in a massive pile in storage somewhere and there are always more for the taking. I'd also not worry about maximizing your profits so much, the further into the game you get the less trouble you'll have with money.

                  Well.. you could travel around to different towns and sell to all the people you can. It's what I did until the
                  Thieves Guild

                  I never sold dragon bones/scales. I'm kinda glad for it cuz I have a huge amount of them and Dragon Armor requires a lot the pieces. And honing your Dragon Armor really will make a huge difference too. Becomes Legendary and the stats rise a lot.

                            Yeah, I stopped saving dragon scales and bones when I started noticing I was leaving dungeons with less and less available inventory space. Has no practical worth early in the game, I believe.

                            So what's this business with the Bards College? I thought making a sort of Rogue Bard character would be an interesting take in the game. Reminds me of when Bards were considered thieves in Neverwinter Nights. But I read you can't even play the various instruments you find throughout the game. Any real point of being in the Bards College?
