Packrats. Sell anything that you don't equip... or can't realistically use REGULARLY. Anything situational needs to be scrapped for money asap. The only things you should be hoarding are Ammo, Alchemy Ingredients and Usable/Reusables like Soul Gems/Potions. If you've skilled up dual-wielding (as well you should have) or single-handed (also good for use with a proper shield)... you should be immediately selling anything and everything 2-handed.
I was able to afford my Whiterun house twice over by the time I got to that point in the story (within 3-4 hours of playing... not counting the tutorial part). If your goal is to be a spell-caster exclusively... you have no excuse. Loot every piece of heavy armor (excluding body because of it's weight) from every body you see. Ignore Light armor because it typically holds no value.
True that, anything you can't use/don't need should be sold whenever posible. Otherwise you end up with a lot of junk you'll never use and that will clutter your save file. >_<
Also, except for some enchanted stuff you will definitely find something stronger in the next dungeon you visit. XD

Yyg, if I took everything of value from any given dungeon I'd be unable to make my way back to town in less than an hour or two. Weight limit and limited gold supply in merchants say prioritize your looting and store whatever can't be sold when the merchants run out of gold. Thus, hoarding.

I just backstabbed a dragon.
Like, legitimately. x15 damage multiplier and everything. It was awesome. Then the dragon ran away
So I just ran through a dungeon and looted everything including the stuff behind the secret quest door. On my way out I hear some raspy noises like there was an enemy I forgot to kill. Turns out I managed to sneak past the dungeon boss without realizing it.
Wow. Seriously Hadoken? What has PC modding come to? I think I might finally get back on XI today, after putting it off for 48 hours. Stress relief of DBZ Burst Limit. So has anyone tried my challenge yet?
Darkmare Vs Orbital Hand Slap from the Giants? I want to know if that horse is invincible as they say he is and survive being hit by a giant into the stratosphere and then landing unscathed.
Heavensward Stats - Main Story: Cleared | Alexander Normal: 4/4 | Alexander: Savage 0/4 | Relic: Last Resort (Scholar) | Mahatma: 2/12
- Obtain Banish Spell and some form of the Soul Trap spell/ability (Bound weapons get them via perks)
- Horde soul gems.
- Enchant weapons you find with Banish
Bound is the most popular and rare enchantment in all of Skyrim. As such, merchants will pay top dollar for such weapons. In fact, you might clean out every merchant before you can sell them all. A basic dagger with this enchantment goes for a nearly a thousand septims or more.
Do this, and you'll only ever have to take what you need from corpses. I really only loot knives, ammo, soul gems and other things I might really need. If there's something with some nice enchatments or high value for being enchanted, I might also take that. But I'll usually leave unremarable two handers, heavy and light armor behind. Unless its glass gear, which also sells nicely and looks cool.
I did Iron Daggers. 1 Iron Ingot/1 leather strip, I believe. I've made hundreds of them and it got me to 100 smithing pretty quick. Hardest part was going around buying up all the Iron Ingots. I chose to enchant them all with fire though I knew banish was higher priced. I went with pure quantity over quality only cuz I figured the more piles of fire daggers I sold, the more my Speechcraft might go up, lol.
Just reached a wierd point last night... The Greybeards no longer have any whispers of words to guide me to anymore. I know they're out there... there's still at least 2 Dragon Priests out there too. I wonder if it's my level or my story progression that is stifling me at this point.

It means one of two things:
- 24 in-game hours haven't passed since you last asked the Greybeards about words of power
- Or you've found all the words they've heard whispers of.
Five shouts are unlocked through the main quest, Parts of the others are found through the searches for whispers. The remaining parts of shouts are found by shouting in towns and waiting for a message from a courier. Shout in each of the nine holds til you're told to stop by the guards, when you're on the road a courier will come along with a note from "a friend" leading you to another word of power.

So I finally captured some souls via the soul trap spell. I found myslf just walking around with soul trap in the left hand, and fireball in the right hand. Left, thne right, then soul! I havent used any of them yet, but they can only be used to enchant regular equipment right, nothing that already has some powers to it. I tried soul trapping Lidia, and that just annoyed her. I annoy her often... My GF has heard all of Lidiaa's, LOL, just caught myself... My WIFE has heard all of Lidia's retorts and randomly blurts them out...
