Good multiplayer games for PS3?

Friend and I get together to play co-op PS3 games and we've just run out of games. We platinum'd Dead Nation, beat LBP(2), Marvel Ultimate Alliance (2), Scott Pilgrim, and I can't remember what else. So, was hoping some of you had some suggestions on what to play next. We've been playing WipeOutHD + Fury, but taking turns to do the events is a bit of a bore.

Help? D:

(Side question: Is multiplayer in Mortal Kombat worth it?)

Strictly Co-Op, or MP in general?

Resistance 2 has a pretty cool co-op mode that's class-based. 3 will have a proper story to it that's separate from the campaign.

Thanks you two! :] Was looking at Borderlands, but wasn't sure since it's FPS, right?

And preferably Co-Op. General multiplayer is fun, but it's enjoyable to play the actual game, you know?

Borderlands has excellent co-op, despite being an FPS. It's a neat crossbreed between FPS and RPG.

He didn't mention exclusivity at all; why would that even matter? It's playable on the PS3.

I consider LBP's co-op mode to be more frustrating than fun unless both players are really good.

Yeah. I didn't mean exclusive games for the PS3. Just PS3 games in general. Would agree, though, that LBP's co-op can be frustrating on a few levels. I remember being thrown at the end boss of LBP2 multiple times accidentally. >.>

I will see what he thinks about Borderlands. Hates split screen and FPS games... So it's, like, arrrgh. Already limited amount of multiplayer games on PS3. :S

Eh? There's tons and tons of multiplayer games on PS3. Just not a lot of co-op games, but that's true on virtually every platform.

Here's some more suggestions:

Blast Factor is a twin-stick shooter that has a downloadable expansion pack that adds co-op multiplayer. It's a very difficult game, however - but if you can survive Dead Nation on Morbid, this probably isn't as much of an issue.

Castle Crashers is a side-scrolling co-op beat-em up. If you haven't played this yet, you need to.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a 3rd person action brawler/puzzler with excellent co-op.

PixelJunk Shooter 1 & 2 both feature pretty well-implemented co-op, though you don't often benefit much from having two players (for that, play PixelJunk Monsters, where having that 2nd player makes things much easier and more interesting)

Castle Crashers is a side-scrolling co-op beat-em up. If you haven't played this yet, you need to.

Just remembered the Scott Pilgrim game too; that's for PS3 and X-Box right?

Catherine has local co-op, but the catch is you gotta unlock the Babel levels in single player to do it.

I will say that I am not a big FPS fan myself, I really do suck at them ;p ......but I LOVED Borderlands.

I would recommend Phantasy Star Portable 2 for PSP and when it comes out Monster Hunter 3rd HD for PS3

the only problem with both those titles is that you will need 2 PS3s or PSPs -.- I know that is not an option for most people, but it is something to think about if you ever have 2 at some point, because both are very fun games, and both are 2-4 player CO-op

As for Dungeon Siege 3, I don't recommend it. I have the game, and it's pretty disappointing, both solo and co-op.
