This could be better than Left 4 Dead and Borderlands combined, mew (and much better than those Resident Evil games as of late, but Operation Raccoon City will be mew mew good!)

Oh mew I can imagine holding a flashlight in the dark and some spooky things are there and aaaaah! Maybe run back to the nice shiny beach or something.

On the one hand, I think they have made excellent trailers for this game. In one you watch a series of dramatic (and deadly!) events unfold slowly in reverse. The music they paired it with was a perfect fit. On the other hand, I think this game might be too hyper violent for me. I'll have to see more gameplay footage before I know for sure.

The animation leaves something to be desired... like how they pick up weapons and that kicking - yuck.

Hopefully the environment has lots of interaction. Something as subtle as shooting a spinning ceiling fan to come down on their heads can go a long way in FUN points.

It looks OK, but I'll probably still be playing Catherine, Deus Ex or Ico/SotC when its out. I'll just put my money toward another game or my PSV preorder

I'm really, really, really fucking tired of all these creatively-bankrupt zombie apocalypse games, even if this one has some new ideas and customizable weapon its still a zombie apocalypse game.

I personally can't wait for Dead Island. As I've said before, I'm not the biggest fan of western RPGs - I find them to be way too open for the most part. While I appreciate the freedom to go off and do whatever you want and change the outcome of nearly everything dramatically, I also prefer there to be more structure with regards to the over-all plot. That is, at leas tin Fallout 3's case, I hated how the main story was so damn short and the real game was just one massive sidequest.


But Dead Island seems to strike a good balance, at least so far. L4D gets tiresome after a while quite frankly.

But yeah, if it's on a Fallout3/HL2 level it could be potentially awesome. Also, considering the setting(s) this is probably the closest we'll get to a Highschool of the Dead game. XD

I am so tired of zombie games. Seriously. The first trailer for Dead Island was absolutely brilliant, but this game is going to need some really unusual gameplay to make me buy it in the face the deluge of zombie games we've seen the past few years.

I agree that the Zombie theme is being worked to death (CoD even has an all-zombies map pack coming) but I'm still very interested in this.

After DI though, I'll need a good long break.

The last time I cared about zombies was RDR Undead Nightmare, which I do intend to get around to now that that RDR Collection was mentioned.

For me, videogame-wise, the only zombie game of real intrest would BE: Operation Raccoon City and only because the Raccoon City scenario is always worth pulling another angle out of, but I don't know if I can even muster the energy to care about it given what all else is coming out this fall.

I'm as tired of it as anybody else, but the series it one of the more intense in the survival genre.
