Main catch is that your backpack is smaller, you can't give items to other people (only receive) and you don't get access to hats, but the actual gameplay isn't limited in any way. If you never thought TF2 was worth your money, well, now you don't have to spend any on it. Go get it.

And, naturally the "fans" of Valve are already demanding their money back for previous years.

You know, the same ones that complained that Left 4 Dead 2 came too soon. Or that Portal didn't need a sequel.

Of all the things that are free to play, however, this could stand to be the best of them and actually make the model not feel so dirty.

He said it was unnecessarily large compared to the first and didn't have the same impact, but yeah, dumb people have a way of turning that into "it didn't need a sequel."

You know, kinda like how Atlus USA saying they had "no plans at this time" to localize Catherine instantly meant to everyone that didn't know anything about Atlus USA that they were just being fucked with. So it turned into "Catherine is never coming to the US."

Then a week later Atlus USA gave official US confirmation of Catherine and everyone pretended they didn't feel stupid about raging that it wasn't coming out.

Hardcore gamers are just stupid like this now. I'm personally glad I never self-applied that title to myself.

I just played a few hours ago. Squeee! After playing Vanilla Xbox360 TF2 for so long, it felt great when I saw "Nandito has found: The Degreaser". Yay new weapons~!

Con: Computer sucks so I had to lower the graphics tremendously, and it still hiccups on those big pushes. Gotta find a way to get them even lower. Then there's my other problem... wow. How do you people aim with a mouse? It's like I never played a FPS before; I am that bad with it. I suppose I just gotta find the right sensitivity.

You haven't lived if you haven't used a keyboard/mouse combo. TF2 isn't the best place to begin, though, since it's just a mess of game-play.

I would mess around with the axis stuff too. Some people prefer it normal, some people prefer it to be inverted.

@Nandito: For performance, try low-poly and/or phongless packs. Can also try forcing DirectX8 instead of 9/10 instead of the phongless pack. I guarantee you'll get an FPS boost. Found those googling around, there may be others.

As for aiming with mouse: Uncheck Windows' "Enhance pointer precision" option in the mouse settings. It makes your mouse accelerate instead of moving on par with your hand movement. It's especially bad if you've been trying Sniper.

TF2 isn't the best place to begin, though, since it's just a mess of game-play.

TF2 has tutorials and bots now. Plus there's training servers. It's a hell of a lot easier to go those routes than to download/buy a different FPS just to switch to TF2 later.

May want to look into a map called tr_walkway. There was a second release called tr_walkway_rc2 that was broken for some months. I read it got fixed, but if it broke again look for the previous version. Youtube it to see why you want that map.

Actually I've gotten more head shots than I ever did using a controller. :D I can see what people mean by more precise aiming with a mouse. I'll be sure to try that regardless; I still had some foot-long misses where my hand could not keep still on Scout's "tiny little head".

Also, two new weapons: Black Box and Equalizer! All these new goodies are great.

If you charge it, a body shot will take out a Scout. Much better than trying to head shot them and whiffing.

Also be aware that unless they made that optional, pulling out the Equalizer prevents Medics from healing you.

Not for me, I main Medic so mine has fallen like a stone. Can't find a good medic Buddy anywhere. That said I have gotten plenty of free kills from horrible SpiesSpies in general though.

My K/d as Pyro, Heavy and Demoman have soared though.
