You can use Paypal to play or use gamecards. (Not sure if these options are US only, though. And totally forget what side of the world you're on.)

The US has gamecards too. I haven't looked too closely to see what games, but I have seen some for WoW; so I would think there would be some for XIV.

EDIT: Also, I can confirm that it's on sale in Taiwan, judging by all the marketing and the fact that they have disks in convenience stores for US~$10, I'm thinking they're out of beta.

Yes. That is what I said. They may be US only options. However, the gamecards don't explicitly say for FFXIV. It's that all in one gamecard that a lot of F2P games use... The one with the guy on it that has the flaming hair.

I think I may download GW again (if my account data is still there) just to check it out. After all the worst thing that can happen is that I do some quests and then log out and uninstall.

I'd probably study Korean before Chinese.

Right, but Hanja isn't going to get you very far. Your Japanese can act as a gateway into Chinese, which you can then turn around as a gateway into Korean (which I will probably do at some point, although right now I'm focusing on getting back into studying Japanese, which I really haven't done in six months, and integrating that with my Chinese study. Part of me is tempted to just wait until whenever Perapera-kun gets around to integrating Korean support). And I mean, I wasn't joking about the kanji; I've had times now where writing Japanese, characters I couldn't remember before would jump out at me, despite having never studied them in Chinese, apparently because it's just had that much of an effect on my brain's ability to process and memorize the characters. Plus I've noticed a steep drop off in the number of times i have to look at a new character as I write it for the first time, and the number of times I have to refer back to it after the first time to make sure I have it correct.

No, I don't read gaming news anymore, except stuff posted here.

Nah, Vein Slasher is a Ranger, and Lotus Locust is my Elementalist.

I do have a Sin though. I have a crit/Offhand build. Its like 68% crit and 88% chance to hit with off hand. Pretty fun in PVE.

Just send them an email. You should be able to get all of your account info in about three hours of doing so. Their customer service is number 1 with that kind of thing. They are fast and reliable.
