The PS2 had sold over 150 million units last time I checked, and I seriously doubt the Wii has sold more than 60 million.

    Market saturation my rear camera.

While this has long been my hope, I'm not so sure. I for one, still feel like I've been pushed aside by Nintendo ever since Gamecube (with a few exceptional games here & there) and have been wanting to see them take their core audience seriously again. And it looks like they finally are, with the exception of the name (Honestly, Wii U? Vita should have stayed NGP too for that matter, it sounded cooler)

While I'm still not really sold on either Move or Kinect, both of them are having increasingly stronger showings and it's just proving what some in the business predicted a while ago - that once Sony & MS get their acts together, who's going to want the Wii when they can get a similar experience but in HD, and with all the other cool offerings 360/PS3 have?

It remains to be seen how the Wii U will hold up, but it's looking good so far IMO. It's not that I want Nintendo to fail - I just got sick of waiting on them to start offering shit I really care about again, and felt like a good kick in the berries was needed.

Funny bit of irony though, all the HD 3rd party games footage that was shown during their conference was actually all from the competition - PC, PS3 & 360.

yeah even though NIntendo said that in their press release, haters are still using that as a jumping bord for their rants, saying Nintendo lied about the looks of the games by using footage from other systems.

86.01 million as of April 1st worldwide (30 million in North America)

55 million for 360 worldwide as of June 4th, 50 million for PS3 as of April 1st.

          PS2 was @ 150 as of January 31 2011, with 1.52 billion games sold.

          So yeah, not even close.

I just need to finish learning kanjis and then go on a Japanese PS2 gal-game shopping rampage.

Enough bishoujo to last me till the PS4 is out.

No seriously, I really need to learn more kanjis. (T-T )

E3: Wii U: AMD GPU, 25GB discs, no GameCube compatibility- Destructoid

Probably not surprising that Gamecube BC is out, but then that could just be moved to VC given it'll be two generations back and they'd have to support the controllers.

Full Wii BC, though, including Wiimote, nunchuck, balance board and classic controller pro. If the touchscreen display ends up purely optional for some games, then CC Pro should be able to do the job

GC out? aaawww, but the touch screen could have been used to emulate the buttons for GC that are not there on the new controller -.-

guess I have to keep my Wii, or find me a Gamecube some where

Eh, I only need BC for one generation back, really, anything beyond that is something virtual console stuff can cover. Given you can attach an external HDD to it or use SD cards (which only get bigger, figuratively speaking) I think its a reasonable compromise at this point.

I just hope Nintendo makes its so there aren't really any extensive installs to worry about with games. iF there's one thing I've not liked about PS3 so far, its all this installation of game data. DLC and actual entire games is one thing, but this thing asked for 7GB for DA:O UE (used copy, of course) before I installed all the other stuff.

                    -------------------

Word from Ubi Soft is Wii U will have a friends list and a more normalized network without the use of Friend Codes, as Ghost Recon Online will be a Wii U game. So that's good news.

I do hope they do what they have done with 3DS and keep the douchebaggery of publishers in check regarding DLC though.

It's cute how you think you can "finish" learning "Kanjis", and that doing so will make you able to read everything.

                            What, are you using RTK?

I know, I know, it was figurative speech. I mean I can recognize/find at least half the words I read in most media I use but on other text heavy/no speech games I'm pretty much SOL for obvious reasons.

I was thinking about buying KRT once upon a time but never actually did, been using some online spanish resources and a few text books from when I actually went to study japanese a very long time ago.

                                But really, lack of study has been the real cause behind my lack of kanji learn-ness (no surprise there.) <_<;

Too "busy" playing XI (and now EVE) to grab a book and study after work.

Next goal: Making time to study Japanese again. d(-_-; )
