I am currently forcing myself to play FFXIII....... I have played and beaten every other FF game...... and I wont let FFXIII stop me ;p

.....but I dont know if I can take any more of that god forsaken battle system.... -.-

Am I the only one who absolutely loved 13's battle system?


The only things I didn't care for was dead leader = GG, and not being able to give direct commands or at least use some kind of filters or conditions like in Star Ocean or FF12 (In SO you can lock specific battle skills so that the AI won't use them.)


Otherwise I love how MP is gone entirely and you have stamina in the form of ATB.

I liked 13's system well enough and agree that dead leader means game over was dumb. Sure the ratio of cutscene to battle ratio was a bit off, but I enjoyed the game.

FFXIII-2 should have change leader and switch in reserves like in FFXII (it doesn't make sense just being defeated when there are still party members that have HP. They are traveling together so technically the battle should continue until the entire group runs out of HP, mew.)

And free movement like FFXI and FFXII also, mew.

And it should add 3 players co-op (at least locally.) which could be more helpful than slow a.i. healing.

It was dumb enough in FF6 where you could assign characters to Player 2 during battle.

I still enjoyed FF13, just maybe not as much as some of the others.
