It would only be an interesting conference if Kojima pulled a Mikami/Inafune and left for another developer. Seeing as they just shit-canned a game he worked on for a year in secret (I wager its the rumored Snatcher remake that got the axe), I think its high time. since all they're ever going to let him do is Metal Gear.

Or if they finally gave us confirmation and a release date for ZoE 3.

So far all I'm getting from this press conference is that Konami is taking a deeper multiplatform approach, except that the Sony stuff will have something called "trasfarring" that pertains to functionality with PSP and NGP.

That and Kojima has a new game to show off. Thankfully its not Metal Gear.

Not that I hate MGS, I actually love it. I'd want HD and 3D versions of MGS3. MGS3 has actually been one of my most replayed games ever so why not? Its almost become as much of a ritual as replaying Super Metroid at least once every year.

Still it would make me happy to see Kojima get to do something new.

Atlus Japan - if such a collection were to exist - would likely announce it at TGS first and likely happen for all consoles.

Mostly because they're not as cool as Atlus USA and don't let Atlus USA announce anything before they do.

Really, though, its sort of funny to know that Project Cafe would just upscale Wii games to HD by default and PS3 needs "HD" versions of games that we could have been playing on PS3 had they not ditched backward compatibility.

That said, HD wouldn't do much of anything for P3/P4 aside from give it new aspect ratio and removal of aliasing. I've seen the images to MGS2 HD. Its not terribly impressive.

It's just 2 and 3, likely because 1 is already up on PSN (and has much older graphics that wouldn't really look much better in HD anyway).

That's probably why MGS1 was excluded in favor of Peace Walker as well (and to promote Transfarring)

It's just 2 and 3, likely because 1 is already up on PSN (and has much older graphics that wouldn't really look much better in HD anyway).

Not to mention how god awful the original's control scheme was. Did they fix that when it went to PSN or is it still tank controls? Because if it's still tank controls they'd want to keep that off the market. I tried playing with that and had an overwhelming urge to hurl the console through a wall.

Well, that and Twin Snakes had Nintendo staffers on the project and was largely funded by Nintendo, so that wasn't an option, either. That and Portable Ops wasn't nearly as good as Peacewalker.

I don't see what's so interesting about it. Making games exclusively for Sony platforms doesn't seem to be a winning strategy anymore. SE and Capcom were ahead of the curve in regards to this, Konami's just now catching up to that. The whole underlying theme to Konami's conference whas a shift to a stronger multiplatform approach.
