  • Soul Calibur 5 announced

Not much to say about this one yet, but they have said its set 17 years after Soul Calibur IV. Aside from that it seems Sophitia's son will be in this game, possibly replacing her.

So it seems they're trying to age out some of the characters, save for possibly the ones whose blood was tainted by the Soul Edge - gotta have a reason to keep Cervantes, Nightmare, Sigfreid, Astartoth and Ivy around. Yoshimitsu would just be there anyway.

This also means playing as Talim (and whatshername, Raphael's apprentice) won't make you feel like a creepy pedo now, though I'm sure there will be a new jailbait character to make up for that.

I guess aging most of the cast out is one way of fixing the rampant problems of SCIII and SCIV, though really, all they had to do was pick up where SCII Arcade Version F left off, fix that Astaroth reach glitch and go from there improving things rather than trying to fix what wasn't broken.

Project Soul did not confirm or deny the existence of guest characters, though really, I wish they'd stop doing that crap. If you're gonna do it, don't do exclusive character based on the platform. Just do characters that would appear on any of them.

Any clue as to which platforms this'll be on?

PS3, 360 and probably whatever-Nintendo's-next-console-is-called (but they obviously can't talk about that yet)

      more here, including trailer:

There were other games announced by Bamco today, but they seemed angled at PSP and 3DS.

There was also a Tekken CG movie teased. Before anyone groans, there is hope as the writer fromCowboy Bebop is behind it.

I've heard a lot of people groan about boobs in the DoA series, but how is SC any different? Perhaps that don't bounce as much, but they're certainly bigger.

I think the complaint in SC's case isn't so much about the enormity of breasts as it is the lack of subtlety regarding coverage. If its not overexposed breasts, its the costumes looking painted on.

It wasn't bad at all in SCII, but in SCIII and SCIV especially they got really outrageous on some costumes.

          Ivy SCII: Just cleavage, really.

          Vs.

Ivy SCIV: Super Slut Turbo Edition (less safe for work)

You could motorboat either, but the second just leaves nothing to the imagination.
