    (2) The game is old and prestigious
Yes, because things like ChuChu Rocket and Dune II: Battle for Arrakis totally fit that description. You're just being bitter and offended for the sake of being bitter and offended.

I'm somewhat surprised that Valkyrie Profile didn't make the list.

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

I don't have a big ego, it just has a large mouth.

Attack of the Mutant Camels (why this instead of R-Type?)

While Metroid Prime and Halo 3 may be better representatives (to you), each game was voted for in a completely different category based on console & genre, so Halo 2 & Metroid Prime 2 may have had worse competition in their respective categories.

I think I wanted Okami and Shenmue to be there the most, so I'm glad I'll be able to see them when it opens.

Not really sure why there's complaint about this being a 'popularity contest'. I mean, it was a public vote after all, so do you expect people to not vote for which games they liked from the lists and pick something they may not have played because someone else thinks it has more 'artistic merit' than their choice? It's all a matter of opinion anyway.

No, Heavy Rain is just everything wrong with "art" in video games. If you like shit, I can't help that. Heavy Rain wants to be a movie - be honest, is that a movie you'd pay to go see?

Artistic merit was kind of the whole point to this, making it a popular vote defeats the purpose of that.

And seriously, who ever sings the praises of Star Fox Assault on "artistic merit," much less says anything nice about that game?

You couldn't be bothered to vote. Shut your face.

It's a list of video games. WHO CARES? Stop nitpicking. If you don't like the list make your own.

Even if they hand picked games based on what they considered artistic, there would still be complaints. At least the gave gamers the opportunity to pick the games they felt deserved to be displayed the most.

Who knows, if you had voted it may have put another game ahead of Star Fox Assault.
