    Anyone heard of this?

Someone took Ikaruga and turned it into an action/platform game. It looks quite solid.

Looks fairly interesting, though it feels like they really liked the art styles of Shadow of the Colossus and Zelda Twilight Princess and tried to blend them.

It does seem a bit derivative, but it's derivative of good things that aren't overdone, and it seems to work.

True, they are good styles to go with. I guess I just also find it rather out-of-place. Any time I see some game that's side-scrolling and its not on Wii or 3DS I'm like "Why isn't this a Nintendo thing?"

It'll be on XBLA, though, so I'm set since I'll be getting a 360 this summer, I think.

The demo and the game are up on PSN now, so likely tomorrow for XBLA as well.

Its more or less Ikaruga meets Metroid Prime 2. You have to phase between light and dark energies to platform, become immune to certain obstacles or have an advantage against an enemy of opposing energy. It was interesting and a polished demo but also too short to get an idea of whether or not the game evolves beyond the rudimentary 2D PoP-style platforming and energy shifting, much less if its worth the $10 asking price.

It also likes to hold your hand a bit too much, I wish there was an option to turn the spirit guide off as I loathe being told where to go next.

Music and graphics are nice, though.

It has good pedigree. It's from Housemarque, the guys that made the excellent Super Stardust HD and Dead Nation on PSN. I expect this game to be quite good as well. I like the demo, will probably pick it up later tonight.

Eh, . I don't see any really good deals on PSN this week anyway. I guess I can stand to see where it goes.
