I'll have to agree with ShadowIX; I experienced no choppy-ness whatsoever.

The graphics, the sound, classic Sonic... I think the 90's kid in me squealed. Granted I haven't bought a game of theirs since Sonic Heroes (Though I did rent Shadow the Hedgehog... *shudder*), but give me more of that, and they shall have my money.

Oh, and Oil Ocean remake plz.

She isn't exactly unwelcome (that hammer basically justifies her entire existence), but she most certainly isn't essential, either.

I mean, heck, I would even be okay with a Sonic game without Tails if A) said game was good (kind of important), and B) (important to a lesser extent) the context didn't call for him. He was my favorite Sonic character ever since Sonic 3, to boot.

(Then again, furries did kind of ruin him for me, but it's not like they left any remotely likable character untouched, anyway. Furries ruin everything.)

Sonic was good, everything after Sonic adventure 2 (on the console side that is) sucked till Sonic Colors.

Even sonic 4 ep1 (I though splitting it up into eps was stupid btw) was a little disappointing to me.

All the episodic approach seems to offer is, for the most part, something to make a quick buck off of and abandon if fans hate it.

Telltale Games, to this day, seems to be one of the few that can successfully use the episodic model to maximum effect.

Sega hasn't said a word about an episode 2, which tells me Sonic 4 is pretty much done. They got people's money on the experiment, I guess that's all that matters to them, as opposed to taking the criticism and making a better game.

How's that? Sonic 2/3&K are to Sonic 1 what Mega Man 2 is to Mega Man 1. Tails and Knuckles are franchise staples for anyone that started the series on the pre-suck era. And 5/6 Sonic Adventure characters were good. Yes, I know Big the Cat was a horrible, horrible idea, but his existence can't invalidate the fact that Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and E-102 all had their own playstyle and were fun in different ways.

                  Also Sonic Advance.

I didn't much care for Amy's side of the story, but I did like the rest of them.

Played the demo for this last night. The graphics were horribly shitty (ESPECIALLY for being 1080p) and I found it strange for Sonic to have a hue about him based on whatever terrain he was walking on. Not to mention, no reason for the game to have such garbage FPS.

Once it got past Tails and Knuckles, it started getting bad. In the 2D games, they weren't terribly different. In the 3D games, Tails piloted mechs and Knuckles flew and climbed shit.

Taking the focus off your central protagonist seldom leads to good things, particularly when the game is designed with him in mind and not the dozens of secondary characters.

I don't play Sonic to pilot mechs and search for lost pets or bash things with hammers.

Tails only piloted a mech in SA2, he still ran on foot and flew in SA1. Knuckles glided and climbed shit since Sonic & Knuckles.
