The Final Fantasy XI Team Answers Your Questions! (03/07/2011)
Re: The Final Fantasy XI Team Answers Your Questions! (03/07/2011)
Neat... Campaign will be made relevant again... maybe. I'd just like some streamlining and battle placement augmentation available.
Bleh... Synergy for upgrading my AF1 or Relic or w/e the f... Augmenting my Gobby Coif would be welcome but other than that Syneryg holds no interest for me.
Um... seals from NPCs? I just want some way to exchange all the unwanted seals that have been thrust my way. Even making them NPC'able for like 1k would be welcome. Just so I don't have the guilt of tossing a bunch of seals others actually want. I get the seals others want while they get the seals I want but not the ones they want... almost wonder if it recognizes which jobs you have level'd past 75 and gives you all the ones that are under... malicious lil Abysea NPCs.
Idk... at least they are attempting to reach out to players.
Any opinions expressed are my own, and potentially unpopular with others. Should this be upsetting, maybe, read it again, insert smiley faces, rainbows, and glitter as needed.

I'm not sure. I don't really feel that FFXI has anything to offer me anymore, but at the same time, FFXIV still seems too incomplete. I want to play an SE MMO, but they are making it really difficult!

The lowered entry time is good but the loss of reservations is bad, bad, bad, bad, bad. People are just going to enter, lot whatever the fuck they want and leave.

Sounds awesome to me... get my AAs and gtfo and never ever EVER look back... unless I get a wild hair up for the clears. And... Reservations?? ... I haven't seen people go by reservations since Hades was merged.

No, I'm talking about the fact that it was restricted at one point by the purchase of an hourglass, which you had to pass out to people in order to enter. Imagine your Dynamis linkshell entering on its regular night into Xarc and suddenly, some tools from a rival ls enter and do one of the following:
* Pull a huge group of mobs to your group, wiping you - bonus points if raising is going to be problematic because of aggro.
* Run around you and pull an NM you maybe needed - like one of the fragment NMs, or worse, Dynamis Lord.
* Lot all of your currency.
* Lot all of your drops.
This would suck big time. At least with the hourglass you could restrict who came in and fucked shit up. With that now being a key item, anyone could come in. Unless they change loot rules and change how some NMs are popped, this is going to be a huge clusterfuck.

From what is says, NMs are going to be popped now. So to kill Manifest icon, you need to first get triggers and pop the 3 mage NMs, then using triggers from those to pop the RDM NM, which allows you to pop the Manifest.
I'm leaning more toward Abyssea and everyone is a separate PT rather than WoE, which from what I hear is a shit hole.
The only issue I see is Jeuno. That zone is pretty much too small for its own mobs. Everyone remember the dancing Goblins that camp the entrance after boss kill?
Re: The Final Fantasy XI Team Answers Your Questions! (03/07/2011)
I'll admit that I totally misunderstood what reservation meant. I merely thought it was speaking to the unofficial site where you one would enter "our LS has this zone at this time". Which did strike me as strange.
Agreed ... that change would suck if they left it all the same... Though, in reading over the adjustments a bit more carefully, it sounds as though SE is making Dynamis more Abyssea-like which is fine by me. I'd rather SE ... um... casualize... casualify... casualinate or w/e... Dynamis. I don't want my time wasted for another slaver's pyramid ... yet I admit that I want some of the shinies that come along with that endgame experience.
Since Dynamis is becoming less like Dynamis, I'll end up doing more Dynamis. Fuck spending 3hrs in Sandy getting some asshat slaver their damn currency when all the relic that is dropping is literally being dropped because nobody wants it. ...mmm... Writing that was very cathartic.

Preach it brother! Preach it!
(I haven't set foot in Dynamis in over 2 years lol)

I'm liking what they're doing, so long as EVERYTHING that drops in dynamis ISNT lottable by everyone, and instead separate treasure pools are created as well.

No matter how far an ass travels he will never be a horse. Some people are just bad players and no amount of tools you give them will change that.
