This week's V Jump has a screenshot of a Moogle whose role is to gives missions to the player.

As detailed back in February, Rem and Machina are technically not part of the game's "main character" roster. The game has 12 main characters, all students at the Suzaku magic school in the country of Rebrum. Rem and Machina are also principal characters, but they have a special role in the story. While they're not technically the main characters, from a historical perspective they will be viewed as the main characters. You're going to have to speculate on what that means.

It turns out that Rem and Machina are actually students at the same magic school as the twelve other main characters. They're both new students in the zero class, the same class as the other students.

Rem and Machina have close ties to one-another, as they're childhood friends from the same town. Rem, fully Rem Tokimiya (voice Ryoko Shiraishi), is a master of magic. Machina, fully Machina Kunagiri (voice Hiroshi Kamiya), is an excellent student and one of the most able at Suzaku.

In battle, Machina uses twin blades which look like lengthy drills. He's capable of releasing powerful 10 hit combos. Rem uses daggers, performing beautiful attacks that make it look like she's dancing. She can also use magic attacks.

website update mew!! official website opens!

Final Fantasy Type-0 Official Site Opens

              Final Fantasy Type-0 Screenshots

Final Fantasy Type-0 finally got an official site today. Yes, all this time, the game has had only a tiny teaser site

The site has sections for prologue, world, character, system, special and spec. The details you'll find in the prologue, world, character and system section have all been reported here (see our article archive). The special section has a wallpaper.

Just a couple of points from the content at the site:

This may be just me being confused, but the site lists different names for two of the game's four countries. Rubrum, the main country, and Milites, the invading nation, are the same. The other two are now called "The Lolica Commonwealth" and "Concordia Kingdom." Just as Rubrum is associated with the Suzaku crystal and magic and Milites is associated with the Byakko crystal and science, Lolica is associated with the Gebnu crystal and shield, and Concordia with the Souryuu crystal and dragons.

The character section lists Ace, Queen and Nine, the first three members of Class Zero who were introduced a couple of months back. Their teacher is Kurasame.

Not in the character profile section yet are Rem, Machina and Cid. For now, you'll have to read our preview from Jump.

The system section shows the battle styles for the three characters. Each character is listed with a standard attack and ability. The latter type of attack requires that you've stocked up your Ability Gauge.

              Ace
His standard attack is Card. This is a tricky attack where he throws out an endless stream of cards. It can be used for both near and far attacks. His ability is Deck Open. Here, he draws up to four cards which cause damage, recovery, status changes and other things depending on the card.
              Queen
Her standard attack is Saber. This can perform speedy chain attacks. Her ability is Cross, where she releases light in a cross pattern. The light does damage to enemies and heals allies.
              Nine
His standard attack is Lance, a long reaching attack with a lance. He can also spin the lance around for a range attack. His ability is Jump. Here, he jumps over the head of the target enemy and thrusts down with his lance. This can also deal damage to enemies in the vicinity of where the move lands.

                update!

                ■■速報@保管庫(Alt)■■ : DG494 PSP「ファイナルファンタジー零式」[スクエニ] 新キャラクター情報など

Khalia Chival VI is the highest official of Rubrum and the 174th chairman of Suzaka. Qator Bashtar is the brigadier general of Militis, and he wields both a sword and a pistol. Cid Aulstyne is a charismatic leader who rules all of Militis.

Edit: There are various areas shown in Dengeki as well. Suzaku itself has a military strategy room where war strategy is discussed and missions are given, there's a rear garden where cadets can relax between missions, and a Crystarium where you can access various data covering battle tips, world info, history, etc. Byakko has a military command center which is the center of the government, and a Magitek Armor factory is also shown.

Also interesting Cid's actual name is Cid Aulstyne NOT Oldstein.

Final Fantasy Type-0: Moogles, Characters and New Gameplay Details

The big revelation in our earlier article was the meaning of "Moogle" in Type-0. The classic Final Fantasy series mascot will appear in Type-0, and they apparently look just like the Moogles of old. But here, the name itself has special meaning. "Moogle" stands for
                "Military
                Operation
                Organization
                Guidance
                Logistics
                Expert."

Each class in Suzaku, the main characters' magic school, has its own Moogle. For Class 0, the main characters' class, the Moogle is voiced by young voice actress Sumire Morohoshi. It's full name is Hattsumikamine Routoyousuna Elfuruchi.

                Khalia Chival VI
The 174th principal of the Suzaku school, this elderly man has long gray hair. It was mentioned in a previous update that the leaders of the Suzaku school are also the leaders of the country of Rebrum. This is true of Khalia. In his youth, he was a widely known for his use of magic. Now he has the confidence of those around him.

                Qator Bashtar
A general in the military of the nation of Milites, which invades Rebrum. The gray-haired Qator wears a patch on his left eye and weilds both gun and sword. He has great pride as a soldier and always fights at the front lines.

                Izana
A soldier in Suzaku, although not one of the game's main characters. He's apparently a big fan of Chocobos. In the most recent video, Izana was apparently shown near death and speaking with Ace, one of the Class 0 students.

Dengeki also shared some gameplay and world details.

It looks like the Suzaku magic school will serve as your base of operations. You'll be able to visit the school's "Crystarium" archives to view background details along with battle history (this appears to be your battle history -- that is, recaps of the battles you fought). The magazine also shows what may be your mission briefing area, also located in the school.

Jump and the recent official site update covered some of the gameplay details, including the characters' unique battle styles. Dengeki adds the following:

The game will have free missions separate from the story.
You can take on missions by speaking with a Moogle (it's unclear if it's the one mentioned above) and clearing certain conditions.
The mission progression works like this: after getting your orders, you move to the world map then head to the battle field. You clear the mission by clearing certain conditions. (In past updates, it was said that you can quickly clear a mission by defeating the enemy commander, although this may not be an easy task.)
Sokuho's writeup says that the world map looks like you'll be able to move your character around just like on a standard field, although it's unclear if you'll face battles there.
Dengeki also provides looks at a couple of summons, Golem and Ifreet. Golem has a "rocket punch" and can also go into "burst mode" where it temporarily raises its attack and defense strength

Expect to hear even more about Final Fantasy Type-0 tomorrow once Famitsu hits!

Mew mew mew! They should show the scans and screenies!

Info "about the summons, which in this game is called (roughly translated) army/military god. The summoning requires the sacrifice of the summoner's life. It is a sort of last resort in battles. Summons will appear for a fixed amount of time, taking over the dead character's space in battle. The dead character it seems will only be revived after the mission ends."

This will be very strategic and challenging! ^.^

Yes, this is indeed the thread where J9 posts information for herself, among a few other threads.

You don't spend time hyping yourself up in front of a mirror, do you?.

Final Fantasy Type-0 Summons, Air Ships and More!

King is the one with two guns, He looks cold, but he's actually kind. and Sice is the one with the Scythe, She's not good with words, but has good judgement.

It looks like we're finally going to be getting a look at the game's world. The magazine shows screens of the player moving about on an expansive world map and even making use of an air ship for movement. You can freely move about the world map, which has dungeons and towns, and will find yourself getting into field battles right on the map. When you return to town, you can get information from people and buy things.
