Re: Final Fantasy Type-0 the ultimate Final Fantasy story?

      update! trailer summary:

      Machina: "Their own fates..."
      Rem: "Decided for themselves."
Machina: "Yes. Free from fear of fate..."
Rem: "Gazing into the eye of death, undaunted."

A colossal battleship appears from the sky and strikes Rubrum City. Rubrum soldiers and summon beasts do their best but cannot stave off the assault, until finally, from the sky, many powerful magics appear, and from the heavens, many pillars of light strike down, and in an instant, the huge city is annihilated.

The invaders are the Milites Empire, led by Cid Aulstein. He sits on a throne, watching the events as they occur. "This is not the end. What occurs now is only the first of my ambitions."

The scene changes to a Rubrum conference room. Alecia is acting calmly, enters while rocking her shoulder (injured?) saying "Sorry I'm late." An elderly woman (Cadetmaster: Ikeda Masako) says "The situation is looking dire." A stern looking man (Commandant: Utsumi Genji) says "Our forces are not enough. We should bolster them with L'Cie." Another man (Provost: Chiba Shigeru) says "L'Cie require the mandate of the council, do you think they will move?" Alecia, "At this juncture, if it will intervene with the bloodshed of our students, it seems most appropriate to me." Another elder female (Commissar: Nozawa Masako) says "I agree. Then it is up to the Director." The Director, Khalia Chival says.....DUN DUN DUN i don't know.

Machina and Rem are in a Rubrum garden. "Rem?" "Let's go, Machina!" etc.

I think this part is multiple scenes, some interaction, some single line scenes.

Machina: "This can't be Rubrum...Those bastards pulverized our Crystal!"
King: "To say our crystal is useless..."
Ace: "Whatever we do, attacking now is not to our advantage."
Sice: "So you want us to just dilly dally while there are hostiles everywhere?
Ace: "These are orders from the Council. Do you mean to question their judgment?"
Deuce: "Maybe there is a Byakko spy in our ranks."
Nine: "Oy, it's probably the same for all 4 countries of Orience, huh?!"
Queen: "Dammit Nine, try to keep your germs to yourself." (something like that...)
Jack: "If we stay positive, we can create a positive future."
Rem: "Our sworn oath to the crystal..."
Seven: "Mother said to choose, but what path can we take?"
Kurasame: "I am your commanding officer, Kurasame." As Kurasame is introducing himself, Nine flies out of the sky trying to attack him, yelling "*******, take this huh?!" Kurasame deflects and tosses Nine aside effortlessly. Ace sees this and stays Kurasame's sword.

Qator, on a flying machine, standing before pupils. "Shortly, you will embark on a new quest. Let's go, Red Demons!"
      Gilgamesh, folding his arms "

Ok, moogle says some stuff and being cute

      Scene with Andoria and Celestia

      Khalia and Alecia deliberating

Scenes of Ifrit, Shiva, Golem again

      Ace and Eight talking

Celestia talking about choice to Seven, Jack, Deuce,

Graveyard scene, and Machina scolding people about abandoning comrades

      copied more of translation:

'It appears so. Machina is yelling at Queen and Ace for leaving Izana to die. Queen fights back saying like "**** you, if you want to play the hero then why don't you go fight Milites all by yourself!" Machina is like "The **** do you know!"

Re: Final Fantasy Type-0 the ultimate Final Fantasy story?

Hajime Tabata and Yusuke Naora Discuss Final Fantasy Type-0

Final Fantasy Type-0's Crystarium and Magic Systems Detailed

Seven, one of the playable characters in Final Fantasy Type-0, gives off an icy first impression, but she’s a big softy. She never says "no" to her friends and takes care of the underclassmen. Seven is armed with a sword whip, which allows her to give the same amount of damage to enemies near and far. Her special ability "catch" grabs and enemy and shocks them for lightning damage.

Jack uses a katana and has high attack power compared to the other character. His ability is "abandon" which sets up a situation where Jack evades an attack and strikes an enemy. Jack is an easy going character, always seen smiling and he moves at his own pace.

Deuce has a gentle personality and carries a flute in battle. She hits enemies with blasts of sound and can use "concerto" to boost the status of all allies.

In Type-0, the Crystarium system is actually called "Alto Crystarium." You use this system to power up your magic.

Defeated enemies leave "Phantoma," which is said to be the source for magic. When you suck this up, your magic recovers a bit. The amount of recovery depends on the type of Phantoma, as indicated by the color.

The Phantoma is also used in the Alto Crystarium to power up your magic. Depending on the type of magic, you can power up the magic in different areas. For example, your Fire RF magic can be powered up in strength, MP usage, call time, projectile distance and speed. Increasing the Fire RF magic's strength parameter requires six red phantomas.

Separate from the Crystarium details, Dengeki has general details on the game's magic system. Magic comes in three elemental types: fire, ice and thunder. The various spells also differ in attack pattern and call method. There are at least five varieties in this area:

SHG (Shotgun): This type spreads at multiple height levels. It doesn't travel far, but is powerful against close enemies.

RF (Rifle): This type shoots out straight in the direction of the target. It travels far but has narrow range.

BOM (Bomb): This type is effective in your immediate surroundings. It can be useful against quick enemies and small enemies.

MIS (Missile): This type chases after the enemy before releasing its magic. The higher level (that is, the magic with the "ra" and "ga" at the end of their names) will expand to encompass surroundings.

ROK (Rocket Launcher): When you begin casting this type, a target will appear. The magic will fire in the direction that you aim. When it strikes, it will explode and damage enemies in the surroundings.

It might be because I spent the last few days having to beg for callers seals from her, but Deuce looks an awful lot like Cornelia from XI. Very similar hair cut and high scarf across their necks.

Yup, SE is really getting comfortable with the PSP.

But makes me wonder if they will embrace Vita once it's out or if they will do what other devs in Japan did when the more-expensive-to-develop-for PS3 came out. They just kept releasing PS2 games instead.

Which is why I had to buy a modded PS2 to play all those awesome PS2 games I imported (like, Code Geass.) Unless Sony gives us a way to port PSP games over to Vita without region restrictions that is.

why port to Vita when they could port to PS3 much easier with Sony new PSP to PS3 kit they released for developers?

If you can port games freely from the PS3 to Vita and viceversa then it would be awesome.

But will they allow their costumers to do the same and port their PSP games to the PS3? <_<

Demo is download-able on the Type-0 site.

Follow these directions to play. (not mine)

For anyone who wants to play:

FINAL FANTASY 零式 | SQUARE ENIX

Click on 同意する in the bottom right

Scroll down just a bit and click on 体験版をダウンロード in the middle in the red circle.

Take the file it gives you and put it in PSP > Game. (The file you download is also in this structure already, so make sure you go into Game in the downloaded file and pull it from there).

Enjoy. Works on any PSP 6.39 and above.

A decent knowledge of Japanese will be very helpful :p

Fun game, wish I knew the hell what I was doing though.

the demo is great, mew! The moogles in middle of room give tutorial and missions! When you complete mission, a new moogle appears in middle of room!

The mission moogles I think have yellow icon and tutorial mission has blue icon. There are 4 missions to play! Completed them all, the 4th one is tough but possible to complete.

The characters and gameplay is really really great and the cutscenes are super! ^.^

oh yes if you don't want Guests, choose bottom option before starting mission, but Guests are pretty helpful.

Hold L and use d-pad to switch leader. Pressing up is to bring in reserve members.

Triangle is normal attack. Square is usually magic, X is support magic/ability (like Cure or Wall or Block) and Circle is their special ability/limit break. Circle + Triangle = K.O. someone to summon.

You lock on to defeated enemies, hold R until the graphic turns like a lock, then press a button like Circle to get MP/Phantoma. Enemies disappear quick, though.

Oh ya, also I think 1st mission scorpion boss can't be killed, so just guide its missles towards the vehicles that block path. after like 2nd vehicle, there is doorway on right you can enter a building.

I hate guests. They come and go too quickly, they are useless half the time and they prevent your non controlled party members from leveling.

Current team is King (Main), Queen and Rem. I find it a bit amusing that I like maining King because I am not really a fan of shooters (game genre). CPU is pretty good about using Queen's Cross, and fully leveled does decent game and healing. Rem because she's great with magic and quick with cures. She's not a bad physical fighter either. Ace and Sice are back ups.
