EVE Online (New character creator)

First step for WiS/Incarna or whatever it's being called nowadays. It was supposed to be released on the main server today, but was postponed.


I really don't have time for 2 MMOGs (heck not even for one) so now I have to resist the urge of going back to EVE.

Eve Online is the same game or is this a 2nd version or something? It's been around forever it seems and I'm surprised they have enough leeway to add a new creation engine into the game. I don't think Blizzard could do the same with World of Warcraft even if they threw $300 million at it.

They went with a new engine with the release of Trinity and added a lot of awesome stuff up to Apocrypha.

And the new character creation is in preparation for the Incarna (with your character being able to leave the ship) expansion but it will still be some time until we see that being implemented.



PS > Dominion and Tyrannis (latest 2 expansions) were very meh though, with Dominion pretty much killing fleet fights (that's why I quit) and planetary interaction being nothing like what they've discribed at the fanfest but a reaaally watered down version of it.

Though CCP has a history of not fulfilling promises or scaling them down.

I just got this (already had the skills for it on my mining char when I quit) but still need the skills for an Orca on my second account.

I will not be reactivating my PVP account this time around, so industrialist FTW.

Supposedly, Dust 514 will be the PS3-only counterpart to EVE's space battles. They take place as Planetside-esque fights for control and will interact with the PC game.

It will also come out for the Xbox unless they've changed plans already.

But it really depends on when this Soonâ„¢ is.

For now it seems Incarna will be the main focus until the Shanghai studio actually delivers something. I mean the trailer they made 2 years ago was pretty nice, but EVE's universe is huge and planetary interaction pretty meh so it depends on how they implement Dust after Incarna.

But either way I'd like to see how this:

Heheh, yep a FPS PS3 game set in EVE, which will directly interact with the spreadsheets in space.

Apparently CCP will finally go ahead with the things they planned for planetary interaction, so fights for territory and resources will get massive, specially if other corps try to make a blockade so troops can't get to the ground.

PS > Although it seems there will be another "zone" between outerspace (EVE) and ground combat, which is where support can be provided from space.

So you'll probably have blockades outside and inside both perimeters plus all the fight going on on the ground.

0.0 is going to get interesting again it seems.
