Ok before this gets any worse...

This thread is about what games YOU LIKED IN 2010. This is not a thread to discuss your sexual preference or to tell people their choices are shit. Get on topic, stay on topic.

That was more of a critique @ Bungie than anything. I didn't insult Neverslip or anything, only pointed out that the game's plot is seriously flawed and grossly contradicts the already well established (and IMO better written in the novels) canon of the Halo Universe. To that end, I'm pretty sure most people don't like it when the creators suddenly rewrite critical plot elements for the worse.

Why don't you enjoy the MP though, out of curiosity? My only real beef with it is all the bad kids who use n00block in Team Slayer. Also I'd like to vote Amnesia: The Dark Descent as best horror game of 2010. Scary shit >_>

I don't enjoy MP FPS in general. I'm average which makes me good enough to be considered not much more than fodder in many games. Lag seems to be a problem for me as well cuz I'm in a old apartment building where the signal is split. However, I really enjoyed the team up vs bots game types. Especially basically putting god mode on with skulls and just blasting the holy hell outta the most dangerous and fearsome foes. Lol.. that was good times... and very purdy devastationl. My "friends" always say they enjoy the MP PvP aspects cuz it's a good chance to hang out with buddies when it's difficult to find the time to do so in person. If that was the case, they'd buy the few games I want to play MP on or play co-op storyline in games I did buy that offer that... which they don't. They also mockingly admitted that they really enjoy listening to my frustration so I told them they could fuck themselves and I'll be damned if I'm gonna play more MP FPS/TPS with them. I play games to escape, have fun, and hear a story. I do not paly games to feel better about a imaginary lethal armchair skillz.

I couldn't care less about the books, myself. I've heard they are a good quick read but I don't read vidgame books. They don't interest me. So I wouldn't know if they raped Halo's "history" or not. And I couldn't care less either. I fully enjoyed the Last Stand. I'm really glad they included that last final bit. Was it an academy award winning writing? ... hell, no. But it was a single player story that interested me and had me involved. I could care less if it fit the books... I've read many Star Wars books and comics in the past and had to suspend the fact I know that certain things contradict. Didn't get me all riled up at all.

Fable III, I'll admit had too short of a main story that was predictible and wasn't amazing. However, I'm just starting in on the evil route and it has had some funny ass sh!t happening so far that I did not see coming. The amazingly humorous sidequests is what I enjoyed and that the game constantly rewards it's players. It is refreshing not having to be frustrated at every turn trying to navigate a world someone has created. Personally I loved the look as well. I'm into steampunk and loved the weapons and the clothing combinations. I loved the weapon lvl'n system. Reminded me of Magian trials with less work but better looking weapons. That is one of the most disipointing aspects of Magians for me. My Kila +2 looks like a gd bone knife =[ I hated Fable III's DLC BS they pulled tho (dyes, dog-skins, clothing, etc). But everyone is doing it these days and it's not gonna stop. Fable II was a very good game... but the ending was probably one of the single worst endings I've ever encountered. Another thing I absolutely love about Fable III over Fable II is that my maxed character statwise doesn't look like as ridiculously chunky as in FII. That really bugged me. I still play Fable II as I'm working on getting the evil sides done of both games. But even tho the end battle was a roll-over, at least there was a battle. Best ending for a Fable game yet is still Fable I's Lost Chapter, imHo. The (SPOILER) dragon was amazing for it's time.

I didn't feel attacked at all really. I thought it really interesting that someone would come in and rag on other's opinions right off the bat and to great extent w/o having the ballz to post their own favorites previously in the thread. And when they did post their favorites it was written as absolutes instead of opinion and not even justified very well. Which wasn't you, Mal.

Since I was pretty much MMO bound in 2010, I didn't play many other games, much less any released in 2010. Of the few I got to play, I must say Bayonetta was probably my favorite.

That is on my list of getting when it's really cheap. It's really hit or miss with some people but I thought she was a hottie. Like a really kick ass version of Tina Fey.

Vanquish is also on that list.

After reading this thread and putting some thought, I realize I do not have a favorite game of 2010. The only thing that remotely comes close is Starcraft 2, but otherwise... nadda. I only play Heroes of Newerth nowadays (beta was in like... 2008 or some nonsense, but I guess it officially got released in 2010). Some WoW on the side, but that game blows.
Burning questions are burning: Is jenova_9 really a girl and is she cute? Does she talk like that in real life?

Bayonetta was a surprisingly fun game though I get the feeling that the game would work suspiciously well when played alongside the Neon Genesis Evengelion soundtrack.

I almost never do either, it's just too damned hard to sort them out. I still can't comprehend how Never can enjoy Reach's plot yet ignore the books >_> but w/e, the books are 10x more entertaining and coherent XD. It's seriously as though Bungie made this carefully crafted set up (well sorta, Halo is pretty much a remake of Marathon) and then just said "ah fuck it" right at the end and basically just did whatever the hell they wanted, continuity be damned. But to each their own I suppose. At least for once the Spartans actually had personalities in-game (John's little more than a glorified Redshirt in Halo CE, 2 & 3 but actually has a very warm & likeable personality in the books)

This might be one of those questions better left unanswered.
