I don't live in the US/Canada so it still counts as an import for me anyway.

And strangely enough it's actually easier for me to get the Japanese versions of games, since developers have placed some very retarded regional restrictions for NA. Places like Amazon wont ship most games here, while other sites simply wont even bother shipping at all.

Not to mention I actually prefer Japanese audio (in cases were it isn't included on the NA version.)

So yeah, Japanese version it is.

Pokemon Black and White look awesome ^^ I am testing one out now lol. Half the game is in Kanji so I cant really tell you what its like. It is however pretty decent in gameplay.

Looking forwards to that game though I'm dreading how much the 3DS is going to cost over here. I do know that Pokemon Black/White is NOT a release game for the UK and with the exception of the new Resident Evil game, the release games are either god awful or I already own it on another console.

                You guys fail so hard.

Each game got one vote. One.

                No More Heroes 2
                Neir
                Castlevania HD
                FFXIII
                Dead Rising 2
                Fable III
                Ass Creed Bros.
                Starcraft 2
                Super Mario Galaxy 2
                Mass Effect 2

I will now be switching to the Who's Line system to declare a winner:

Since a star is the reward, there are three games that take place among the stars, and No More Heroes 2 also had a space segment our finalists and winners are are:

                No More Heroes 2
                Super Mario Galaxy 2
                StarCraft 2
                Mass Effect 2

They also all have the number two in their titles, which makes them extra special, but sadly Dead Rising 2 didn't go near any stars unless you count an undead Wayne Newton as a star.

                I don't.

                Sorry Dead Rising 2

And now to present the star...

No Mario, you fucker, you're supposed to share it. I know you like stars, but damn, how many of those do you have? I think you can share one for a change.

                Jerk.

Games that should have never graced this thread:

Fable 3 (game should have never been released)
-Why? Because the targeting (its so bad that I can't even call it targeting) and controls are horrific, and if you do make a target, the camera is likely to screw everything up. The story is frankly lame and lackluster. The customization is downright pathetic. And how you interact with other characters got reduced down to two actions, one good, and the other bad. Accompany that by tedious load times and glitches abound (such as if you receive a gift from someone, good luck getting it) as well as having the item selection system dissolved, and you have a broken p.o.s. game. Fable 3 can not even hold a candle to Fable 2. Fable 2 was a far better experience.

                          Fallout 3
-This one is more my preference as I don't have much in the way of actual qualms with the design of the game. It is well designed, just like Oblivion. Both of which I feel move at a snails pace and lack fun. In fact that is my qualm with most games these days, is that they just don't feel fun anymore. If you like it, more power to you, but I can not wrap my head around how anyone would find it fun in the least; but then again, people love time sinks, and they drive me insane.

Kirby's Epic Yarn (If you love it, no big deal)
-If you're five this game is fun..... for all of an hour and a half. Its a nicely made game, with great controls and ingenious game play for which it must be given great credit as most games these days don't even come close. However, it isn't nearly as good as older Kirby games, and the recent Donkey Kong game surpasses this title hands down in every aspect. This game has no difficulty level to speak of and no catches aside from the ingenious little control schemes once or so every level where you're a tank, or a train. There is also no replayability in the least. Platformers these days are nothing but knock offs of older games, or new creations with one or two little gimmicks that ultimately lack the soul of what the genre was. If you want good platformers, look back to older kirby, old mario, battletoads, crash bandicoot even and the glorious Cave Story. Everything else since the days of these titles has been shabby and a cop out to all gamers as we are forced to constantly be handed games that fall considerably short.

My game of the year would probably be a tie between Red Dead Redemption (particularly the Zombie pack) and 3D Dot Game Heroes. Its been a disappointing year for me on all systems.

                          Johnny flame on!

I'm glad it bothered you enough to post this, that it bothers you what other people like.

Whatever. That's the nicest way I'll put it, I had more terse works typed out.

This thread isn't about deriding other people's choices, i only joked about doing it to J9. She had fun with Castlevania, that's her choice. The real point of the thread is to talk about the games you had fun with. It was about what you personally enjoyed. I don't give a damn about what you think other people should enjoy. Fuck you for even coming in to "correct" people.

Fable III and Kirby's Epic Yarn are fair game, Fallout 3 was out of bounds because of when it was released. No one gives a shit if you didn't like any of them regardless, though.

"Challenge" and "Soul" aren't even qualifiers. That's mystic bullshit criteria, especially when you showed you have no soul.

The fact you have the audacity to talk about "soul" after ripping on what has been the best time for platforms in several years is beyond insulting to the intelligence of everyone here.

                            Super Meat Boy
                            Limbo
                            Super Mario Galaxy 2
                            Three Sonic Games
                            Kirby's Epic Yarn
                            Donkey Kong Country Returns

And some of them are masterpieces, shining examples of the genre. Others just good clean fun. If anything, 2010 was the closest thing to a return to a golden age of platforming than we'll probably see again for years. The future games of that genre have even bigger shoes to fill now.

And hell, just for the sake of argument, 2009's NSMB Wii still sells like mad, its one of the best selling games of the entire Mario franchise. I think people have found something to like in it, but apparently they're all wrong and you're here to correct them now, right?

                            Whatever.

People like you make me embarrassed to call myself a gamer.

Really? You must not have read any of the Halo novels, particularly The Fall of Reach. Otherwise you'd be in the boat that I and many others who actually care about the Halo universe and it's plot. The game basically craps all over the canon, royally screwing with shit. It was poorly written too, oh lord wtf.

Not to say it wasn't fun or un-enjoyable, but by the end I was just so disgusted with Bungie's massive retcon job that the only saving grace left was the multi-player and even that is pissing me off to no end lately with how many people just whore n00block. I used to use it for a bit, but I've sworn it off for every mode but Multi-Team (and occasionally Elite Slayer but only if the entire enemy team is using it. God damn it I hate people tossing stickies at you then n00blocking, or locking right after you stick them)

There's an epic thread over @ Bungie stating all the fuck ups caused by the game, the biggest of which is the date. The game takes place before the book which makes no sense at all.

Bungie.net : Bungie Universe : Unexplainable errors in the Halo canon. (Spoilers)

Bungie's said that the books are as much canon as the games, though if there's any conflict the games take precedence. Well, in this case I have to flip the bird to Bungie because they had to have deliberately done this and it disgusts me. Way to crap all over your own story guys, real classy way to leave a franchise.

                              DIAF Bungie.
