At least you get Tales of games. The only ones we got were Symphonia and Vesperia, both 2 years late and both easily cost over £80 ($120) each second hand because there were only ever a few hundred thousand copies printed in the UK.

I wish I still had my ps3 ; ; it got that "red ring of death" basically. Just stopped working all of a sudden in the middle of playing a game. I bought it off a friend originally so I didnt have the warranty!! my poor ps3....

AS for the game ^^ I love the Tales series I am looking forward to this games release for when I get a new ps3!!! Looks amazing!!

People need something to complain about, even though its probably not coming out in the US.

I'm amazed Namco bothers with PS3 when they're not going to bring such games to the west, seems like a waste of money. They could get a lot more out of these projects if they were on PSP and get them out to the smaller audience that cares about them in the west, potentially turning an actual profit. But we're talking about Namco-Bandai and the Tales studio here - they don't operate on logic.

Tales of the Abyss might happen, though. Its a 3DS game. Wait and see.

Bumpage. The Tales of Festival has just concluded in Japan and Namdai has released two trailers for ToX

First is the game play trailer

New things to the series are intractable environments, two additional styles of chat (in field chat, like in XIII, and battle chat) in addition to the traditional Tales of groovy chat. Specific to ToX are link artes, where you assign one of the other characters to the controlled character. This allows the linked character to use certain artes as lets you use link attacks when the gauge on the left reaches a certain amount. You will also be able to freely change out party members in battle with your reserve characters (think X, but faster) as well as quickly switch between controlled characters like in ToG(f). No work on Mystic Atres, but I severely doubt they wouldn't include them.

The other is the story trailer

There are 6 playable characters:

Jude Mathis: Male protagonist. Is currently in Training at a hospital. Uses Fists (think Senel)

Milla Maxwell: Female Protagonist. Claims to be THE Maxwell. Uses a sword, spirit artes and can summon.

Alvin: Mercenary. Uses a Gun and Sword

Leia Rolando: Jude's childhood friend. Works at her parents inn and is a nurse in training at Jude's parent's clinic. Uses a pole and healing artes.

Elise Lutus: Quiet shy girl who is an outcast in her own village. Her "doll" Tippo does most of the talking. Master of spirit artes. Battle style changes depending on what Tippo is set to ("Tippo on" or "Tippo off", changeable in battle)

Rowen J. Ilbert: Butler to a wealthy family. Likely the oldest playable character in the series. Fights with a sword and uses it to direct spirit artes.

The man with the scar on his face is likely the main antagonist.

When you start the game, you will be given a choice of Jude or Milla. The main plot is the same, but different things will be revealed depending on who you choose as the main character. For example, there are two animated intros, one for picking Jude and another for picking Milla. The Milla one was shown at the Fesitval, the Jude one is currently in production at ufotable.

Tales of Xillia is due out on September 8th in Japan. A very pretty PS3 is also being released as a special edition bundle. Those who pre-order get costume DLC for Jude (Cless from Tales of Phantasia) and Milla (Stan from Tales of Destiny). First editions will also have 1 of 4 chibi Jude or Milla collectibles as well as a code for a PS3 theme.

Obviously no word on a western release. Maybe people should buy Graces F when it comes out in 2012.
