Coming soon to make RPG nerds forget Valentine's Day: Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation.

Seems unlike the previous two remakes there's a slight change to the presentation of the battlers, giving some action to them, akin to DQVIII and IX.

I really wish Nintendo's Q1 wasn't filled with awesome DS titles, especially RPGs.

Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded (which is an RPG... sort of)
Dragon Quest VI
Radiant Historia (somewhat of a Chrono Trigger-esque game by Atlus)
Pokemon Black/White

Then there's Ghost Trick and Okamiden. There's also many hints of holdovers from Japan finally getting localized for US release on the DS, so its still going to have its share of games as 3DS starts to take hold, I'm just anxious to see what the launch line-up for 3DS is and I believe Nintendo is set to reveal that in a few weeks. There will also probably be a slew of third party announcements around then.

Meanwhile, Sony will "announce" its worst-kept secret - PSP2 - to steal Nintendo's thunder. People will LOL and go back to looking at the 3DS.

I'm glad they are coming out with more soon. Hubby is nearly done with Golden Sun and will be bugging me soon for more games! Keeping that man in RPG's is a job in of itself!! lol

Has he played Infinite Space or SMT Strange Journey yet?

Infinite Space should keep him occupied for a hundred hours at least.

I have both and he'll be playing SMT soon since Xmas is over. He'll be done with that in a flash, for someone not that into games, he gets QUITE obsessed with them once he starts to play! I don't know if he would like Infinite Space though. He's definitely more old school, I thought he was going to jump all over the living room on St. Nicks when he opened his stocking and saw Golden Sun Dark Dawn in it. lol

The poignant passing of a Dragon Quest fan- Destructoid

A member of the retro-gaming site Racket Boy did some research to find that fifteen years ago, a 76-year-old woman was clamoring for the release of Dragon Quest VI in the states. Edith Jeter's wrote a letter to Nintendo Power stating-

“I’m now 76 years old. I may not live long enough to see Dragon Quest VI unless someone takes action soon.”

This was right when Enix was closing its doors, before the merger with Square Enix, so most of the company's games were unable to be localized at the time. Now Dragon Quest VI is finally coming to the United States on February 14th, but sadly, Edith Jeter is no longer here to play it. She passed away on earlier this month at the age of 91.

Edith's story hits home for me, as I'm sure it will for many of you. Thank you Edith for defying gamer stereotypes, letting your love of gaming be known, and for working to get the game you wanted to play brought to the United States. You're an inspiration to all of us here at Destructoid.

In the time she spent waiting for it she could've learned Japanese and simply buy the JP version of the game instead.

Dawwwwww. That's the promo shirt they had at the SF DQVI event on Friday. Yuji Hori was on hand just as he was for the DQIX event in NY, too.
