SSX: Deadly Descents: 3 screens, a ridiculous description- Destructoid

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djpdkFCVED8]YouTube - SSX: Deadly Descents — VGA Debut Trailer (HD)[/ame]

Fans just wanted a mix of what made Tricky and SSX3 so fun, why are they going all Uwe Boll on the franchise right now? I am so tired of this "dark and gritty" reboot nonsense.

But if you're into this, then maybe you'll also enjoy this:

This is what we wanted more of:

    Not this:

Arcade style, over the top tricks, insane trick combo strings and an opportunity to conquer the mountain. That's all we want, a return to form rather than the crap that followed after SSX3.

If you want to go make Burnout: The Snowboarding Game, feel free. Maybe there's an audience for it. Just don't call it SSX.

You forgot fireworks. It's not the same without the light show ever time I managed to do something right, even if it's as small as covering my mouth when I cough.

All I ever wanted was a little recognition.

Yeah, that was the other thing, SSX is one of those games that knows what color is, yet doesn't have to be a Nintendo game for it to get away with using all the colors in the rainbow. We have these wonderful HD games these days, but they don't seem to know color beyond black, white, grey, dark brown and dark green.

I need the fireworks, the cool beats and Rahzel insulting or praising me along the way. And rivals to push over and laugh at as they tumble down the hill.

      Simple men have simple dreams.

Goddamn it. I didn't even play the games and I'm still tired of this bullshit.

If you still have a PS2, SSX Tricky and SSX3 are a real good time and pretty cheap to come by. Easily some of my favorite trick-based games ever. I think its largely because there's a bit of platformer philosophy within them and employing the trick combos wasn't some carpel-tunnel-inducing ordeal. The real difficulty of tricking was to not be too greedy with them, which was always an easy trap to fall into given the various power-ups thrown at you from time-to-time.

I'd say Tricky is better for its music, Razel and pure arcade style, but I personally like SSX 3 better for the events being focused all on three mountains and being able to roam and freeride it between events. The most epic part of SSX3 was riding from the top of any of the three mountains straight to the bottom within a certain time limit. You had to master each of the three peaks' various tracks, the short cuts and spend some time in freeroaming the tracks and backcountry to get an idea of where to go and what to do to accomplish that.

For someone like me that loves the snow-covered mountains but sucks and boarding and skiing, it was kind of living a little dream I had without needing the requisite athletic skill to careen down a mountain on pieces of plastic with funny boots. I'll stick with tubing or sledding down a hill.

SHIT I forgot the Spike awards were last night!

Batman, Uncharted 3 and Resistance 3 trailers should all be up on GT now.

Yeah, there was also a Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and a Mass Effect 3 teaser came up last night along with SSX. I was underwhelmed with the results of the whole show. I do think Red Dead was worthy of the GOTY, but only because it wasn't going up against Mario Galaxy 2 or Starcraft 2 by Spike's blatant dudebro designs.

Man, I loved the SSX series when Tricky and SSX3 were new. Then, yeah, complete garbage. If I wanted realistic snow skiing and snowboarding, I would just go outside (which, I actually do love to ski, but fuck snowboarding, I hates it).

I'm excited about the new SSX. I was wondering why they hadn't made a new one about 3 months back, and then a couples weeks ago, there's rumors. lol
