So because it doesn't have rumble weighing it down doesn't feel "sturdy?" That aside, it feels just like a dual shock to me, minus the frivelous and mostly unused analog buttons and L3/R3 nonsense. Last time I used it was for Sonic Colors, which was fairly recently.

No, it's not because it doesn't have rumble weighing it down. It's because the plastic freaking creaks every time I press a trigger button on an analog stick. It has almost no weight resistance, and any input makes the position of the controller shift. I like my controllers to stay put when I put pressure on an input, and the Classic Controller does none of the above. Doesn't help that the plastic frame is apparently made of really low grade plastic that just isn't rigid enough to hold up to the expected pressure (I have a similar issue with the SixAxis PS3 controller, which bends slightly if you pull the dual analogs in different directions).

I think yours might be broken. I've used both the original and new Classic Controllers and have never heard them creak o_O

It is not "broken". It works perfectly fine as far as inputs are concerned, and it has been like this since the day I purchased it. It's simply terribly manufactured.

They really should add Psycho Soldier to PSN, mew! Great action, music and cooperation!

I've had mine since Monster Hunter Tri came out, there's no creaking.

Like Armando said, I think you got a bad one. Or maybe you just have the Classic. There's no creaking on the one I have.

There are two models. Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro. The Classic Controller Pro is the more popular and common of the two.

Classic is essentially a SNES pad with analog sticks and two extra shoulder buttons. Classic Controller Pro resembles something closer to a Dual Shock and is fairly sturdy. No creaking. I actually see it as a close second to the Dual Shock.
