Other than that there doesn't seem to be too many issues with paladin tanking and healing but there's a lot of QQ over their DPS'ing.

I have to admit, I don't really get WoW players' insistence that EVERY class must be a DPS class in addition to everything else it can do. What is the point of rogues, mages, hunters, and warlocks then?

No point at all. Why play a pure DD when hybrids like druids and paladins can perform your role better than you and can become a tank and healer if the DD slots in a raid / instance are already taken. The issue is only magnified when you're filling out 10 man runs because it's impossible to ignore the flexibility hybrids have over one-trick-pony pures. Blizzard are too lazy to put any effort in to redisigning the pure talent trees and they certainly won't penalise hybrids in any way as they form the majority of the playerbase. The supposed hybrid tax is a complete joke, anyone looking at the many parses out there can see this clearly.

It's supposed to give each class a decent way to solo, but it just crowds the DD role space.

Well, I understand why every class should be able to do SOME damage, mobs aren't just going to beat themselves to death on your armor. But that doesn't mean they all have to be able to do as much damage as classes designed to DPS. A tank that does 75% of the damage of a DPS but takes 50% would probably solo just fine, unless soloing is designed so that mob attacks on you are *complete* jokes and it's impossible to ever die or have downtime. Healers might be more difficult since some healers rely on their mana to nuke, too, but it seems like they could come up with something.

P.S. Of course hybrids are most of the playerbase -- most of the classes are hybrids. Indeed, it would be hard to have any other result when everything has to be either a DPS or a DPS/something else hybrid.

Hunters are kinda ... self sufficient. I mean ... I don't want to say OP but it just feels they are a bit stronger. Or it could just be me.

Canceled my account today. I don't play it enough to justify paying for it, and I'm looking at a vehicle purchase that's going to require me to save every possible cent.

Not terribly saddened by it. WoW's not going anywhere. I'm sure if I want to play it again in six months it'll be right there waiting with my account.

Sorry to hear your situation sucks. My situation isn't as dire as yours, but it sucks, nonetheless. I know what it's like to have more bills than money. It's not a good feeling.

Yeah, as I am an officer in my pretty much dead guild (last person to log on before me was a week ago), I figured the guild will be gone if/when I return, so I grabbed all of my stuff out of the gbank so that doesn't go poof with it. Not that it's really that much - talking maybe 500g worth of items - but still.
