    The difference is D2 and D3 are games you can host and kick people from. Yes, Battle.net has its fair share of fucktards but they are highly manageable if you host rather than do PUGs. Additionally, no one can throw the subscription fee argument in your fact.

    As rigid and freedom-killing as MMORPGs can be, players make a fair argument about time and money. Wasting people's time is wasting their money and they have every right to whatever rules they please if the developer is just going to leave it up in the air.

    This is why I just don't want to go back to MMOs. I hate the corporate structure of raiding gullds, the eerily familar and arbitrary middle-management actions of officers and leaders. At the end of the day, it reminds me of what I deal with at work. That's not fun and its certainly not escapism.

    If someone has a problem with my build or what zone were doing in a game like Diablo, well:



    If they want what they want so bad, they can host their own fucking game.

    That's the real beauty of the P2P game. I can play how i want and they can fuck off.

      And this is a huge reason why I want SE to fix FF14, because at least so far Guildleve almost completely eliminates this problem by rewarding everyone who participates.

          Dear Blizzard,

          You better make Diablo III happen on consoles, because I still remember that whole Starcraft: Ghost thing you backed out on and you can't furrow your brow and go "I don't think its possible on consoles" since we have tons of games like Diablo on consoles and handhelds these days, get with the program.

            Well, it's not like Xboxlive is that much worse than Battle.net in terms of maturity...

            I'd still get it for PC though, unless the controls were really, really good. Even then, PC version means I can still play it anytime I want. 360 would mean I'd have to keep my XBL subscription going (I'm not canceling it any time soon but one never knows)

                Yes it is, and I love it for that. Unfortunately I happen to like playing shooters better with the 360 controller, and I have way more friends on XBL than on PSN.

                That and the majority of FPS players I've run into & seen on PSN have so little skill it's pathetic I have seen people get away with crap you would never even dream of on 360 unless you got into a lobby with nothing but day 1 n00bs who've never touched a shooter in their lives.

                    General concensus is that PSN players are much worse than XBL players, although you still get the same number of retards.

                    I don't know what this has to do with the topic though.

                          What do you mean by "worse" if it's not being a retard? Being an asshole? Because I seriously doubt you could beat XBL at that. (I don't do much online play other than MMOs, which either only exist on one console or, in FFXI's case, have one playerbase that spans them all.)

                              Which unfortunately doesn't account for intelligence in the slightest. You can be as skilled as hell with a sniper rifle, but if the game you're playing features a capture objective or the level is a series of hallways and confined space, then what's the point in being a sniper? You're going to be the weakest link or die the most no matter how good you are as a sniper.

                              If its a dungeon hack, you're going to run into dummies regardless, but if items exist that players can use to revive and buff allies, they're generally going to be smart enough to buy them and use them. Most games of that sort these days make sure everyone gets the same loot to avoid in-fighting.

                                I've been thinking about this, and that just doesn't seem fun. I'm well aware of what it's like to run the same instance for days just for a single piece of equipment, but allowing everybody to obtain the same drop seems like it's watering it down a little too much.
