Re: Megaman Legends 3
GOD DAMN YOU INAFUNE!
ARGH! Was hoping this would be a PS3/360 release, or maybe even a PSN launch as part of a bundle with the other 2. Gah, I want it, and I want a 3DS, but Nintendo is insane with their $300 price tag for a hand held.

Re: Megaman Legends 3
Been a well-known fact that its a 3DS game for at least two weeks now, Mal. Inafune clearly wanted it to be a 3DS game.
The kind of tech that thing is pushing, what's included along with the existing line up - I'll be more than happy to pay the $300.
$300 is what it is in US dollars in terms of yen, though. Could be $274.99 could be $299.99. US and EU prices haven't been finalized by Nintendo and I'm sure Nintendo will toss in some Nintendo Points card or a few games already installed to sweeten the deal.Last edited by Omgwtfbbqkitten; 10-11-2010, 12:52 AM.

This is the same engine that runs DMC4, RE5, Dead Rising, Lost Planet and such on the PS3 and 360. So if MML3 was to do well there's a bit less work to do on upgrading since if things go well on the handheld version. The foundation would be there.
My advice if you want a console installment? Buy MML3 whether you own a 3DS or not.
I mean, it was Catherine that finally pushed me to want a PS3. I like Atlus games, I go where Atlus games go and don't whine about what platforms they choose.

Re: Megaman Legends 3
even Megaman Legends 3 isn't worth buying a 3DS for. Might as well just buy a PSP for Dissidia Duodecim and Agito XIII.
Inafune really betrayed the fans that bought Megaman Legends 1 (and 2) on a console first day and been fans of (what's supposedly Inafune's favorite Megaman series) ever since.
With his position and control in Capcom (Inafune was the one who decided to not allow Darkstalkers 4 to be made.)
he could have easily developed this for PS3 (and even Xbox360 if they wanted).
This is very terrible news, mew. >.< Only the rich people who would buy a new platform for one game would buy this now. >.<
And even if it sells well on 3DS, there is like no chance they would "remake" it or port it to consoles. They might release a Megaman Legends 4 on consoles, but like Chains of Memories all those years, console fans will be missing a part of the story.Last edited by jenova_9; 10-11-2010, 08:39 AM.

No one game could be worth buying a $300 console for unless it was Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, amirite?

PSP had a very slow start, but its got a strong line-up right now. The DS line up is weakening and with only a few more first party games to back it slated for next year, it won't be long before third parties shift to 3DS as well.
But 3DS has a very, very strong lineup already. Sure, its mostly ports or familiar franchises, but handhelds always start out with the familiar before branching out. Devs gotta see what they can do with these things first.

Sounds more to me like he didn't want to be a self-important jerk and realized MML3's place in the grand scheme of things. If it can succeed with it on 3DS, however - and again MT FRAMEWORK - then there's no reason he couldn't bring an installment to consoles at a later date.
Did SE "betray" fans by moving Dragon Quest to DS and Crisis Core for PSP? Nintendo for making Metroid II and Metroid Fusion Game Boy games. Or all those handheld Zelda games. Are Sega traitors for Valkryia Chronicles 2 and 3 on PSP? Hideo Kojima for MGS Peace Walker on PSP and a MGS3 update for 3DS?
I feel so deeply betrayed I own most of them. God, it just pierces my heart.

Those people with thier handhelds, they're high-rollers. I guess rich people can have ramen or tuna sandwiches for a couple weeks so they can buy one. That awesome savings plan worked for my DS, PSP, Wii and just about every other console or handheld. I must be a frickin' billionaire because that strategy is about to get me a PS3.Last edited by Omgwtfbbqkitten; 10-11-2010, 09:11 AM.

Actually, its great idea, too. Pokemon Black/White more or less assures that DS has a couple more years left in it. I don't think they'd make - oh whatever the call it, I'll just make something up - "Pokemon Grey" for 3DS.
DS has some pretty nice games still coming, too, Some of which might draw a small benefit from the the higher resolution screen on 3DS, such as Okamiden
DS still has much I'm looking forward to. I just wish Rune Factory 3: A Fantasy Harvest Moon hadn't snuck up on me, that's early November.
The one thing I'm anxious to hear more about is the Game Boy Channel. When you think about it, there could be a flood of old GB, GBC and GBA games there on day one. Finding those old GB and GBC games is quite a task these days, even though a GBA could run them.
So 3DS is going to be like having every Nintendo handheld ever in one system when you think about it.Last edited by Omgwtfbbqkitten; 10-11-2010, 09:20 AM.

Hi, I live in a third world country and earn in pesos, but will still buy a 3DS (at a price at least 30% higher than most people here) and quite a few games for it it seems.
Am I rich?

Re: Megaman Legends 3
Either I get to kick a can around or I'm not buying this game. Obviously this was the selling point of the 1st.
While they may not make a Pokemon Grey for 3DS, they're sure as hell gonna make it for DS. DS is basically the PS2 of the gens - they're gonna keep pumping out those games way past the new hardware release date.
And J9, I'm a broke college student - nothing is going to stop me getting a 3DS. No, not this time. I skipped out on the DS before, nothing will stop me! Nothing!Originally posted by YygdrasilOriginally posted by NanditoPonies.

And at least Harmony of Despair has multiple characters, DLC and 6 players co-op, mew!!!! In my opinion it's worth it (though they sure are taking their time releasing more DLC.)
But I guess I'm not that big a MML fan to spend $300 to play it.
Oh well, so MML3 is being made, that's is nice and all but there's far far bigger and better things to look forward to on PS3 and even PSP, mew.
