  • Anybody want to play some Borderlands?

In 10 days, the Borderlands GOTY Edition will be released. For forty bucks, you can get eighty bucks worth of content. Plus, the game is ballin'! Anyways, it'll be a good way to use all that hardware we bought for FFXIV, and the game really shines with four players playing together. I really meant to play more when the game originally came out, but couldn't find a good group.

I would if I had a PC, PS3 or 360 to play it on.

If I had the PS3 version, it might get lonely.

Thankfully I have Phantasy Star Portable 2, which is essentially is the same concept, just with more weapons and less first person stuff.

I was going to buy it when it was like 20 bucks on Steam. <_<

Uh? You're being a little vague, so I'm going to assume you don't know much about Borderlands.

The game has a variable weapon mechanic that can create up to one million different weapons. Granted, they're specific base weapons with varying stats, but that's pretty cool. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work out like that, as most bosses drop specific weapons, and the weapons you find tend to be similar. It's Diablo style, so every once in a while you find a truly kick-ass weapon.

The game ramps-up when playing with four different players, so enemies get strong and weapons get better. Enemies can be real bullet sponges, so it's important to have somebody who can regen ammo.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 is Diablo in space.

            Borderlands is Diablo with guns.

Not that being like Diablo is bad, mind you, because Blizzard takes forever to make a sequel to it, but once you're hip deep in a game like that, its hard to jump right in to another.
