    DMC Reboot - WTF is wrong with Capcom

    Going to warn you all right now, it's horrendous, utter trash.

    As much as I didn't care for Nero, I'll take him over this faggoty, goth-kid new Dante any day. I didn't think it was possible to fuck up worse than DMC 2 but they found a way. I mean what the hell man?!

    I don't know why people are mad.

    Mostly because I don't know why people take Dante so seriously. The only way he can fail as a character is if he isn't an arroagant jock that says stupid things. Its not a leap for me to assume he was a petulant brat at some point, but his random shift to a brooding Cloud Strife personality in DMC2 is the only real character discrepancy with the series.

    Then again, you take Mega Man's story and characters seriously. I see them as complete bullshit. I mean, pardon me if I don't give a fuck about the story behind Zero.

    People went looking into Metroid: Other M for a serious, passionate tale they could hold up and cheer as art to Roger Ebert or some bullshit. I was just looking for lots of Alien fanservice, to see why Adam died and the beginning of the conspiracy that continued into Fusion. I got it.

    Is Dante something important to the concept of "badass" that I'm not aware of? Because I find people's concept of "badass" wildly inconsistent from character to to character and different game franchises.

          Yeah, Background Zombie # 7 finally got his chance to shine after only getting crappy roles as an extra in RE games.

              Just ignore DMC and play Dante in MvC3.

                  #4) It's being made by Ninja Theory (ewwwwww), under Capcom USA not Capcom Japan, which explains a lot. So aesthetics aside, there's no hope for the gameplay being any good anyway. Ninja Theory sucks.


                  At least I can still look forward to Vanquish and MvC3, but if this really is the new face of DMC, yeah that's one series that's officially dead to me. At least I still have 1-4 to enjoy at my leisure (not that I'd ever load up 2 again, I just own it for collection's sake)

                    Right by the people that made Heavenly Sword (a good game, if gone the way of Kratos a little). And they're the makers of Enslaved, which appears to be rather highly anticipated by those that have had a chance to play it at shows.

                    Do I need to point out what some "unproven" people from Texas did with Metroid? A pretty damn good job, that's what. Care to reel in your prejudices a little bit here?

                    Vanquish is Platinum Games, not Capcom.

                    And everything you're saying about DmC now - you said that about Call of Duty: MW2 last year. Apparently you still bought and played it, because you couldn't stop talking about it.

                            Heavenly sword was crap, and for the majority every time a hit series has been outsourced to an American developer, it has bombed horribly. Heavenly Sword was crap - very pretty crap, but still crap. Ninja Theory is a C+ rated developer at best, tl;dr game is going to be shitty, mass boycotting will ensue.

                            DMC 3 is still the best in the series, and it looks like it's gonna stay that way which is a shame. At least he's being left alone for MvC3.

                              Capcom of Japan is still overseeing the project.

                              I'm sure this new Dante will still fly motorcycles into space while eating pizza on a pool table, just without white hair.
