And wasn't Tidus the dream the Aeon's held of Shuyin? Shuyin kinda went off the deep, dark end to save Lenne.
Since SE likes to draw in story as a reference for everything here, seems to make sense, though that also would suggest Kain is going to play his expected role for Golbez and Golbez would be full-on evil this time.
The Emperor also said in the original game that Jecht was once a "pawn" of Cosmos, that when the "game" was reset, sometimes people ended up on different sides. The Emperor and Ultemecia are the only ones that ever seem to hold some memory of previous events in then endless wars. Though it does seem Golbez and Cecil also hold some memory of what transpired, as their relationship as brothers grew to the usual story arch by Dissidia.
This game runs prequel to Dissidia, so all this would add up. Everything about the characters from the original game seemed as though the characters were pulled from various FFs before the endgame.
EDIT: is that "MogWeb" a confirmation of internet play/DLC or just the usual MogNet stuff from the previous game?
