The graphics do look very shiny and fresh. Just watched the Vaan and Tifa one... wow...O_O

The true name of Vaan's Ex mode is "License Complete!"

I've only seen the first video and Vaan's looks great^^ I hope his shotgun attack is dashable xD
And I was right : Water and earth concurrences on ground, fire and wind in air! (and he has a damn Falcon Dive xDxD)

Vaan looks awesome. Never thought I'd say that, but wow.
It seems like every game that Vaan is in, he gets progressively more awesome.
I don't care what anyone says, the pose Vaan strikes after he tears you up is badass.

Laguna has A Machine Gun, Grenades, laser launcher/Blade, Sniper Rife, Bazooka, Missle Pod and Apparently Orbital Strikes

He's a One man Army!! No wonder Timber lost the war... Laguna had killed them all and decided to go home!!

Laguna is ridiculous. Ridiculous. I wasn't excited about him at first, but watching him play... damn, man. I want to play him so bad.

And his ex-burst is bloody hilarious.

You know what else I noticed?

These guys are at low levels....that means, there are plenty of attacks we haven't seen.

you must play FFXII to understand. FFXII allowed weapon switching instantly at any time (as fast as you can move your fingers in and out of the equip menu. ) Mix that with magic and Concurrences and you understand Vaan isn't copying Firion or anyone elses style. His style represents how FFXII combat works for the most part as a whole, not simply license board based.

Laguna gets gold plated everything! So high quality, mew! I guess presidents get neat 100% discounts. ^_^

Vaan also has more differences from multi weapon users like Firion and Bartz. Unlike them, if Vaan attacks with a weapon, it stays out until Vaan's switches it. He starts the fight bare-handed and HP attacks make him bare-handed.

Because Balthier and Fran were a supportive role (like Han Solo and Chewie were compared to Luke.) , if you cared and played through FFXII, you would know that.
"Coolness" points don't make a lick of a difference when it comes to the main character seat.
(no matter how much Balthier claims to be the leading man, it simply wasn't true.)
Auron can be said to be cooler than Tidus, but Auron still is a supportive role, not main role.

Don't want to turn this into another FFXII argument, but everyone who's done their homework instead of expecting the story to lay all the facts in their lap know that Vaan is more important to the story than either of those. The story was told mainly from Vaan's perspective, and FFXII needed someone for Cosmos side, which Vaan would get first priority on the list.

It is kind of like Final Fantasy VI, there are at least 3 characters people can argue deserve to be called the main character, but at the center of it all, Terra is really the #1 main character in that story, regardless how some people thinkg she was less involved compared to the others.

Well, Balthier's the leading man and then there's all these other guys stealing the spotlight.

Can't have that, now can we?

As for Fran I think there are reasons:

- She could steal a scene each time she spoke up with that lovely voice of hers. Shantotto won't have it.
- When not astounded by the ears, she's just a bit dayum all over. Tifa wants claim to the T and A.
- With all Cloud of Darkness' best efforts to bear it all, well, Fran has that minus the weird tentacles.
- Opponent's reactions to her EX Burst would be "May I have another, ma'am?"

If it wasn't for him and his example, Ashe would have been consumed by vengeance and used the nethicite to destroy Archadia and create a bitter future! The result of such destruction could have destroyed Dalmasca too! Vaan conquered his hatred, that's why the Occuria gave up trying to control him.

Vaan was so generic to me I actually forgot I was playing the character. o_O;

You say goblin smithy and I instantly think of something, you say Vaan and I'm like: "????"



PS > Laguna rocks, and his song is one of my all time favorites.

SE get's points for adding the one character that would've made me buy the game some time ago. Unfortunately I still find myself completely uninterested on anything SE but Versus and Agito.

Does the character you control always have to be the main character of the story?

R2-D2 and C3PO are the are the most consistent characters in Star Wars from movie-to-movie, is it somehow wrong that this was the role of Vaan and Penelo?

Vaan: Beep boop de sky pirate ba beep deep boop.
Penelo: Help me, help me! Oh put that down, please stop!

Some characters are just witnesses to the larger story, like those listed above or Jay and Silent Bob.
